Does any know when their going to open the “free” launch ramp by Parker Dam? It looked 90% done 3 weeks ago.

It will continue to be free to launch there.
We (the County) secured a grant to assist with the improvements at Take-Off Point, and the new fishing improvements and non-motorized boat ramp on the penninsula around the CAP intake.
In exchange, BLM agreed to keep the launching area at the Point free. We stipulated that, because Take-Off Point was the only free access to the Lake in La Paz County.
And who says there's no such thing as a Free Launch. :) :D :p

I think the thing in the middle is the observation deck. Bring your chairs and a cooler full of some cold ones and watch all the idiots ram their trailers into it. :D

I took that picture when the water level was way down; the water is now up to the flat area in the middle of the ramp. I believe they made that “flat area” so your wife does not have to go swimming to get into the boat after she parks your trailer.
DARN IT, no WET T-shirt contest at the ramp.

There will be a floating courtesy dock extending from the hump in the middle. Different contractor, and waiting for the water to come up some more.
Other improvements will be an expanded parking area, picnic area and composting toilets.

For those of us that have launched there in the past, I think they put the courtesy dock in the middle to ack as a curb to keep the idiots who think they are the only people lauching for the day from Bogarting both lanes. Go figure............
