I hate that too, when some says "hey guy" to me I usually reply with "not much champ" or "how's it going doctor?" - that "guy" thing just pisses me off.

mam = ma'am.
Ma'am
n
Used as a form of polite address for a woman: Will that be cash or charge, ma'am?
ma'am
Madam; my lady; -- a colloquial contraction of madam often used in direct address, and sometimes as an appellation.
ma'am
a woman of refinement [syn: dame, madam, madame, lady, gentlewoman]
I guess that says you'all are not women or refinement, eh? :D
Actually - I agree with "Hey Bro" salutation. I ain't your brother and I ain't be needin' no "man-bra" either. :D
Another ... "Duuuude" Never been to a "Dude Ranch" and won't be ever goin' to one.
Another - Homey....I also ain't you homeboy.
Another - Honky mutha****a' - 'nuf said.

Guy or Guys
is Californian for "hey you"
(I don't think they mean anything by it)
as in "hey guys want a beer? ", or "will you guys help me?"
In the south they just say "ya'll"
:D

My mom and I have similar names and I hate being called by her name. There are so many variations on my given name that hardly anybody ever calls me by the right one ... so I'm FM. Problem solved. :)
As for other actual names derogatory or otherwise that I hate to be called well ... I'm not about to provide ammo! ;) :D

I don't like when people who don't know me well call me "Anj". My name is Angie. Unless you're my husband or brother, you don't know me well enough to call me "Anj". Bitchy, I know, it has just always bugged me.
Along the same lines, I hate when people say "T'sup?" (what's up) when they mean hello. Not when they genuinely want to talk to you, but when they say T'sup and look away. It's not a greeting, it's a question---wait for a damn answer!!!
okay, I'm done :)
