Look forward to seeing this finished product.

Yup gonna be all paint,a new guy @ Kachina named Jeremy is doin it and he's got some "wayout" ideas.. some of his work can be seen @ www.custompainting.com
If he can carry over that kind of craftmanship onto a big canvas like a 26' boat its gonna be FRIKEN awsome..

Force26-
I've had a couple of buddies have motorcycle helmets painted at Deano's, and seen many of their vehicles. I would say you are in good hands. Great choice in personel, can't wait to see it.
MBrown- you're right, they do a bunch of Roger's stuff.

We did. I like it because it keeps the boat clean after you clean and condition the inside. You could pack the inside up and tow it with these covers on. Our seat in the cuddy cabin makes out into a bed, perfect for cove camping at Lake Powell. Mr. Scream got such a kick out of the night light!
We love our boat!

The people at Kachina are so cool. They will load you up on t-shirs and stickers and coolie cups!

carrera I/O that was prob pretty rare too :D

Louie and everybody at Kachina has been totaly Awsome! Well we will for sure have to "hook up" in the Old School way, not what it means today....
There is a thread over on hot spots west called Lake Mead Memorial, where everyone going is posting. Check it out!
Our boat has been in Lake Pleasant, for our shake down cruise, then Lake Mohave for a 3day stay and the recent green lake Elsinore.

(928) 486-3832 - John
Warlock sells it. I had some spots on my vinyl, and today I used his orange stuff (forgot the name) and a brush and they came right out. Then I conditioned it with the silicone sealer. Awesome stuff. If you want more info, do a thread search for Frenzy Products....

the "blue" motor is the HP500 in these guys case.
or HP525 in case of outcole'd.
Probably don't have one because the "blue" 500 is $10,000 more than the 496HO although the up-grade does include the xr drive...
and the 525 is a little more yet.
However, those guys with the bitchin' looking blue motors pass us guys that don't AT WILL.....

Yes, ours does not go that fast, the guy (can't remember his name) that tested it for us at the lake, said it ran 65 with just him in it a 5 gal of gas. We can do 60 with people, stuff, gas and ice chests.
I think I need googles too, cause the wind gets under your glasses and you can't see, because your eyes tear.

That's great warranty service. Laser/Essex has made me wait two weeks to just bring it in, and they told me today that the boat would sit for about another four days before they got a chance to look at it. And then another week if they needed parts. THATS FOCKING BULLSHEET! I haven't gone to the "Asshole customer card" yet since I don't want to put the cart before the horse, but is this any way to handle a warranty claim when the customer (me) has already had to miss two trips and possibly a third because their not holding-up their end of the deal? When I take it down there on Saturday, I plan to tell them that I'll be back in one week to pick it up regardless of the extent of the warranty repair. I consider myself an understanding person, (to the chagrin of my friends and family) but I'm not going to allow myself to be taking advantage either.
Sorry for hijacking the thread.

OK, I've gotta know. How do you flag 175-200 hours a pay and fix problem cars? Are they just tossing parts at them? Do you get tons of maintenance work? I can flag 20 hours in a day. But it is rare, I do driveability so many times I have to diag first ( many times that's the easy part) but then I have to make time to do the repairs. That's hard to do when I get an intermittant problem child who insists on waiting (this happens too often). I often wonder if it's just poor scheduling on your part( I mean the service advisors) . I can do the work , but they won't leave me alone long enough to do it. Plus some dealers in the area have told their customers that we are the specialists in the area for the hard to fix car. Shoot the area rep even brings in the tough ones from other dealers. So I ask, how do they do it?

you're right thats when it gets really tough....
I try if at all possible to avoid waiters unless its like a remote program or something like that...
Everything has to go right. Like a couple of Astro A/C compressors that pay 4.2 and take 30 min to get your 20 hr day counts up....
Also, my guys all have apprentices and it used to be that I had some real good apprentices so it was really 2 guys hammering it out but flagging one #
Or like an Astro srta, 20-30 min but 7.5 hrs. You know the deal.

I wanna choke them bastards when they ask the customer "Are you gonna wait for this?" I tell them time and again to ask them " where would you like a ride to?"
The amount of people willing to spend money has just been dwindling lately. We've just begun to pick up a little bit, but our trans guy is out with an aneurism (SP) so it's just a few of us. Who pays the helpers? The trans guy had one and the shop paid him. He helps out all of us now, doing trans work for us. I kick him some cash over what the shop pays him when he helps me.

didn't sign up for the program this year. did however receive my digi-cam as my "winnings" from last years MOE crap today
all those tests were beyond boring, not to mention ridiculous last year. got them quarterly, all of us got different versions so hardly any helping to be done and they basically expected us to have memorized the p&p manual and si2000

I'm thinking of trying one of those bazooka tubes in it before I go build some crazy enclosure. figure if it doesn't sound good I can put it on the pontoon or something
