Boat,
Did you replace pistons in the engine? Or is this a stock HO engine?

You need to install a seperate transom water pick-up and dump for the intercooler. You should run the water through a sea strainer, because if the transom pick-up gets blocked, the intercooler wont work and the fuel temp will rise....not good....
Let the drive supply water to the engine heat exchanger.
With regard to the stock 496 MAG HO pistons.......I ran them in my Whippled 496 up until I sold it......No problems....

I made my first trip since the whipple, Before--- 24P bravo labbed wot 5200rpm--63mph 3people and 1/4 gas--- After 4lbs boost 28P bravo 3 people 70 gal. fuel 71 mph @4700 coolant temp@141 wot, I could onlt get 4700 rpms,I think I need a bravo 26P prop. What rpm is the best.

Run a 26P....
I had my Whippled 496 at 6 lbs boost.
Boat ran 75 MPH at 5,250 RPM.
