sweet! from the looks of that dyno sheet i take it you had larry peto build your engine?

Larry did the short block and we did use his dyno. Was that your Nordic there yesterday?

nope, not my nordic. mine hasn't been there since january. i had larry build my engine and dyno the motor thats why i recognize that dyno sheet printout. how many CI are you runnin and whose heads? i assume you are runnin a supercharger too? if so what kind and how many pounds of boost?

Brian...great numbers. I got your message-- I'll try and call you tomorrow. I can't wait to see that bad boy in your boat--you have two weekends to get it all ready and tested :) :D April 15th- Havasu!

What drive are you running? What kinda speeds are you expecting out of your boat?
Congrats on the huge numbers!!

XR, stock except for a billet top cap.
I'm going to back the power down slightly before I put it in the boat. Air filter and 2 deg less timing will pull about 50 hp out and make things slightly more reliable. Not really sure what an open bow Magic with 950hp will run. I would think low 100s with the right prop? I may also get a low boost pulley to pull out even more power for normal usage and try to keep the drive happy. For now I need to focus on getting this thing back in the boat and floating again!

568, 8.2:1, Dart 355 CNC heads, hydraulic roller, Procharger M3/M4 hybrid, custom EFI. I think it made 9.8 lbs boost max if my math is correct in converting manifold pressure inHg to psi.

from looking at your dyno sheet i thought maybe you were running a turbo seeing how your boost literally triples from 3,100 rpm's to 6,200 rpm's. the procharger explains that to me now. roots type superchargers and twin screw rotor superchargers like whipple maintain the same boost throughout the rpm range of the motor more consistently. seein how your procharger builds boost more like a turbo this will be easier on your drive than having 9.8 lbs of boost come in at lower rpm's all at once.

... this will be easier on your drive than having 9.8 lbs of boost come in at lower rpm's all at once.
That was one of the reasons I chose to build this combo... we'll see if the theory actually holds true this season if I don't grenade the drive right away!
Also, funny thing about the boost - ATI estimated that the 5" pulley I'm using on this engine would make about 5 psi... I'd say they were a little off! This pulley puts the blower just under 43k when the engine is at 6200. I have another pulley that's 4" and would put the blower up to almost 54k, still a few thousand shy of it's redline. In other words, it will support a ton more power. Unfortunately I'm near the limit of my 75 lb/hr injectors with the 5" pulley, so it would take much bigger injectors to support the kind of boost this blower will make at full tilt.
Here are a few pics of the finished deal:

Finished up this evening and made some noise in the driveway. Looks like everything is working good. Boat needs a good bath but is otherwise ready to go! We'll be out mid-day on Friday.

So I have two weekends on the new motor now, and I am happy to report that it is everything I had hoped for. Much more civilized than the old motor and a huge difference in power even after I pulled some timing out for reliability. The 32 Bravo that I used to have as my perfect day, light boat prop is now the every day prop. Pops right up on plane with little throttle and will spin out to 6200 with 3 peeps, 3/4 tanks, and the usual load of junk on the boat. Not sure how fast it is but it's plenty for me. Turns out an old slug Magic will run pretty good with enough power under the hatch!
