...and I should have brought my kite! The wind was nonstop all day Saturday. It didn't even slow down much at night. I'm glad I went on Thursday night though because Friday was a good day. :D I feel sorry for everyone who only made it out for Saturday. It looked like everyone was trying to take refuge in the channel. It was still better than staying home!

Yes I looked at the water and said no way. It was full of white caps! We will be back in two weeks and hopefully it will be back for normal.

I'll be back in 2 weeks too. I have a season pass at Winsor but saw a big cat out there getting beat up on the way to the channel. I paid the $10 to launch at Havasu Marina that day. Idled to the channel in the morning, and idled back to the ramp at night. I topped my tanks off in the morning so at least next time I won't have to stop for gas. :)

Beautiful here in Northern California today. 85 degrees and mild breeze. Great boating weather... and it was really nice at the lake today after the kings bitch slapping of the Lakers..........

yeah I saw all you crazy boaters out there on the lake in that wind from my lake view at work on Sat afternoon. Wind blew hard out here all weekend...

The water was great on Saturday ... well at least for my buddies 38 Slingshot and my Top Gun. Running with the rollers, I actually had the props out the water a few times .... I had to turn around and run into the waves ... awesome ..... UNTIL ... I lost a coupler in my starboard ext box and blew up my bellhousing ... DAMN
Savage has all the parts I need and will have the boat ready for the AZHB Poker Run.
I am glad it happened on a one day trip instead of on the first day of a 4 day weekend for the Poker Run.

Saturday absolutely fockin' sucked...never before have I seen white caps in Steamboat!

Yea Friday was real nice, but Saturday was channel city, with everyone else! With that wind direction we figured Steamboat would be nasty, so we just hit the channel on Saturday. It still beat being home plantin' flowers!
I was chaperon this weekend to some 19 year old girls. Figured I better do the right thing. First thing Friday morning I had them at the beauty parlor for makeovers. Next stop was the "wild thing" swim suit shop at the bridge, mastering the moment. Boy howdy, after that it was time to turn these babies loose on the boardwalk! They tore it up all day, all night, I didn't see them until Sunday when they returned to our place, right on time. What nice girls, I'm sure their parents would approve of the job I did.
I made sure they knew the golden rule before I returned them home....What goes on at the River, stays at the River!

We were at Dana doing our motor swap when a call came in from a Dana customer screaming... WE F**KING LOVE OUR BOAT TOM!!!!.LOL. She and the family were zipping along in the big water flying back to the channel. It was great to hear her screaming over the speaker phone.:D

Just got from Havasu myself, actually we stayed at Needles, but ventured down to the Channel for Saturday and let me tell you I have never been as nervous in a boat as I was Saturday going from Needles to the Channel. Everything was fine until we crossed the lake, had to keep the boat at about 12mph and plow through waves, even then we had water coming in the boat. If the motor or drive had failed we would have sunk in a matter of minutes.
Other than that it was a great trip, spent quit a bit of time hanging with the Sandbar Junkies and Unleashed, not sure if I've ever met a cooler group of people at the lake. They were all super nice to my friends and I and had a couple of the cleanest boats out there. Also met Reaper 1 and Fast Timmy, both of whom were real cool with some sick boats.

Damn, Sorry to hear that Gary, I am glad it will be ready for the run though...
I was out there checking on our house (without the boat) and the wind actually felt good to me. I was looking at the water on saturday thinking it would be a good day for the Gun. It sounds like it was, at least for a while.

John went out with his daughters on Saturday, (I had to work:frown: ) He went straight to the channel and like what was said before, so did every one else, couldn't find a parking space. so he cruised at 110 mph to steamboat and parked there for awhile.
Boat handled the chop with no problem. That was the good part, appearently there is still something electrical wrong with the port motor (the one with the steering) and it wouldn't start (no fire at all). So he limped back to site six from steamboat on one engine, taking more water over the bow that the boat has seen in a lifetime. They were all soaking wet and freezing by the time they got to site six.
I picked up the trailer at Windsor and picked him up at site six. You know the place where the locals are brutal, the wind is howling, he has no steering, and our POS dodge 1500 doesn't have the guts to pull that heavy of a boat up the steep ramp.
But lucky for us the boat trying to load next to us had lost a bunker and the chick was swimming for it and then they were trying to hold the bunker on and drive the boat up, so nobody really noticed us, and John actually stabbed it on the trailer pretty good.
This was one trip I was actually lucky I had to work and missed.

Warlock25 I saw that boat cruising through the channel and it looked great. I can imagine how they were feeling after limping home cold, wet, and tired. I messed up my prop waiting for our trailer so we had to sit in the water holding the boat with not one dry towel or t-shirt. We didn't get out of there until almost 9:00, and let me tell you it never felt so good jumping in the truck and firing up the heater.

Those windy weekends kick my butt in the 22', but it's damn nice to know the the sailboats aren't the only ones having fun out there! Big Cats, Big Vees and big water, that sounds like a fun combination.

Hey Deano nice meeting you out there, my buddy swears he wasn't declining the offer to get in your boat because of the girls who offered (if he did then I know he's gay) just didn't feel comfortable climbing all over your boat. I hope we didn't wear out our welcome at anytime, we all got pretty tuned up after that stressful drive in the morning. Anyways we had a great time out there with you guys :D , hopefully we'll see you out there again!
btw, gave my girlfriend your hat (figured it would look better on her) and she loved so it looks like you have a new customer.

Im glad i was up on Thursday too! Friday was great all day at parker! Sat morning when I topped the hill @ the Springs I was like Dam white caps and wind! It was a rough ride going to the channel all the way from the springs. All the big boats were flying accross the lake while ole Bonzai was breaking the tops getting bounced around! Sat in the channel, they were right everyone was taking refuse there. Thanks to my bro holding me a spot, I never would of got in there! Was going to go to the sandbar when got we swampped. Took off and went over a couple of big ass rollers and as i came down on one , another broke over the bow and just drenched me and the kids! I've had spray come over but never a wall of water. We turned back around and watched all the people in the loaded down open bows try to go out the windsor side of the channel. Everyone that wasnt in a 27' plus was turning around. Rode the shorline back to the springs, went back to parker for the rest of the afternoon.

Just did some chores around the house instead, hunted Easter Eggs with my daughter and headed back home wishing I'd had gotten some lake time.:(
In a few weeks I'll make up for it:D

Hey Deano, we ragged on him pretty hard the whole way home, believe it or not that wasn't the only time he pulled a semi-gay move with the ladies that weekend. Oh well, with all the recent advances in gay rights he should feel comfortable enough to come out of the closet soon. I think he's going to head back up with me May 30 - April 2, so I'll let you know if he is able to redeem himself.:D

Well we were parked next to Deano and his group in the channel and two very good looking girls in his boat asked my buddy to climb aboard to which he replied "No thanks, maybe later" Deano figured he was just checking his options before he commited to one set of girls, or he was gay. My buddy swears he was just trying to be respectful and didn't want to be climbing all over some guys boat. It wasn't a big deal, we ended up hanging out with them anyways, just giving my buddy a little flack.

Deano nice pictures!
I don't care what you Fockers in your 32'+ boats say on the water conditions. It was F$%#$ked.
I've been out many times in winds more than 30MPH, but this had some large swells too!
I launched from Windsor and headed to the channel, dipped the nose few times and came out of the water three times and just said F-it and cruised.
Stayed in the channel all day.
