Does anyone know the story behind this pic. I thought it would take some real effort to sink a manufactured boat.

It happened at RWYB a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't there so I'm not sure what happened. Maybe one of the peeps that was there will chime in.

The boat is a Correct Craft Air Nautique 210, which comes standard with about 1000lbs of ballast tanks. From the pic it looks likes one of the ballast tanks broke. More than likely the fill hose came undone, and the pump kept pumping, who ever turned on the tanks didn’t have enough brains to watch the gauges to.

I never could figure out why anyone would want to put water in
their boat. It's like jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.
Wouldn't do it.

Four types of water allowed in my boat
1. water formerly known as ice
2. bottled
3. Bait Tank
4. Rain being taken out by a 1000 gph auto bildge pump

From what I heard he had anchored it bow facing shore and it got swamped. I do remember watching them put it on the trailer.

Damn, it would take alot of water to swamp a ski boat.
Seems like it would take more than just one wave.
They must not have been paying attention to their boat.

Those folks had a BAD DAY. First they got their truck stuck putting a boat in the water. We watched em battle that for awhile. i don't remember if they were launching the boat that sank? So then that wakeboard boat didn't move all day. Just sat there sinking;)

$50,000 boat, worth about $500
Mission Bay Aquatic Center has two 2003 Correct Craft Super Air Nautiques left for sale for $42,500 with a new trailer.
