Give yourself about 10-15 to read this one all at once, very profound:

Wow, that is heavy, heavy stuff. She is hot as the radiation zone though...
Weird, almost twilight zonish seeing the places frozen in time. Even stranger that you can get in and look around.
Bechtel (My employer) is working on rebuilding the carcophagus that surrounds the reactor.

Wow, no words to describe that. On a lighter note, do you think her twinkie glows in the dark? Could be fun :D

I thought I read (and I am being totally serious) that smoking cigarettes actually radiates you somehow. Like, smoking on a regular basis is similar to enduring chemo therapy sessions.

It is amazing how good her English is. I wonder where she went to school. Terms lie “Sacred the Bejesus out of them” don’t translate very well.

I didn't see anywhere to launch my boat.
My uncle worked at Rancho Seco Nuclear power plant. He was
there all the way from the time they built it to the time it was
closed down. While under construction he took me on a tour
through the plant. I was able to tour almost the whole plant
all the way to the reactor room. We had to put on protective
gear to inter into the reactor room, I was able to view inside
the reactor through a site glass that was 5 feet thick. An
amazing site to see, and something I'm sure I will not be able to
see again.(especially since the plant is closed)
He said one time a worker forgot an empty Coke can
in the reactor room and it was locked in there all night. The next
day when the next worker open the door and walked into the
room, the radiation from the can killed him.
The joke after that tour was that we would all glow in the dark.
When night time came I turned all the lights out to see if I would
glow.:D
I don't think I would be talking any collectables home.

Hey Tom- I have pics of when that place was up and running with both reactors blowing smoke.....pretty cool. If there is a bad wreck on 16 on my way to work (and this is pretty frequent) I end up having to go that way and drive right by it...still gives me the creeps. Its pretty close to us here, you could see the stacks from my old house out at Comanche as it was pretty high up on the hill.

I have a friend in Scotland that was fly fishing the day of the meltdown. Apparently the sky over Scotland turned red. The cloud passed over Sweden then onto northern Scotland. He said it was the weirdest thing he had ever seen. There he was standing alone on a river fishing when all of the sudden the sky turned red and started to rain. It was only weeks later that he learned the rain was contaminated.
He is fine now….. Apparently mass amounts of Scotch help combat radiation sickness. :D

So, it must be the contamination that causes old Scotts to have a huge red nose.....
