I went to Wally World this morning, Saw a Schwinn/Orange County Chopper Bike in the entryway. 4 inch rear tire, drag bars,
riveted seat and a chainthat is 7 feet long. Laughed my ass off.
I rolled it to lay-away, went home and got the wife to bail it out.
That will teach her not to buy me anything for my birthday last Saturday!
It is the second comming of the Sting-Ray!
The told me that they got ten in, sold nine, yesterday, mine was the last.
New pit bike! Be the first on your block!

Interesting.
A guy I work with started a company called Fire Bikes. He's been building chopper style bikes like that for several years now.

Anybody know where to get the triple trees for those? I have a minibike project going right now that could use a set.

Holy Shit, that's real close. I got it for my 8th birthday or something, was actually scheduled to have my tonsils out in the hospital. My mom let me ride it down the driveway, make a uturn in the street and park it. Next morning I'm goin under the knife. When I wake up, there's my whole family (I"m #5 of 6 kids) lookin over the bed at me. My oldest sister steps forward and says "I wrecked your bike"
I wanted to hurt her...She did some stunt with her friend and bent the front forks at 90 degrees. To this day I have never seen anything like that. My oldest brother took me down and we bought SOLID STEEL forks from the schwinn dealer.
I'm gonna save that picture though, it just looks so close to "rosebud"
In fact, I'm gonna send apic of it to my sister and see if she recognizes it...LOL
Thanks for the pic.

WalMart is having trouble keep them on the floor; they sell out as fast as they come in.
A friend of mine is putting a little two-stroke engine on one...

Yes and no...
Schwinn and GT merged in 1998, went bankrupt in 2001 and was purchased by Pacific Cycles. They are now selling the bikes (made in Taiwan for the last 20 years) through Wal-Mart and Target stores.

correct, 2 of the best are now down the tube! Pacific sucks big cock. My friend has a 2 year old GT DHi downhill rig and I tease him buy sayin "nice Pacific"
Wait unitl you see a Schwinn straight 8 sitting in Costco with the shifters and brakes mounted backwards!
Buy you next bike from your LBS (local bike shop) while you still can!
I had an apple peeler when I was a kid. I put a solo seat and low ram horn bars on it. Was a cool bike and I wish I still had it.
Oh well.
I will never quit riding bikes. Just to much fun.
May 8th is opening day at Big Bear. Make sure your health coverage is good and I'll see ya there.

An used downhill fork would be good for that.
Rissie champ, Jr T, Super T or Monster T would be good.
Here is one with a Monster T. Frame sucks but the fork would be slick on a chopper.

Most bikes have an 1 1/8" steer tube just so you know. I think most mini bikes are 1"

nice, will you be able to get around the block on that thing. 4" tire will be just a tad hard to keep rolling. A 3" on a double wide rim is bad enough.
I bet your bike will weigh about 60 pounds. lol
It looks cool though and I know that's what your after.
