Man you are really making some progress.I do not see how you could go wrong with strighting the bottom and adding a shoe and ride plate.
Is the boat going to be light blue too?

yes it is gettin that motor.
Yes I do plan to use the same blue.. mainlly white with that blue tirim. The blue is a custom color i mixed up while trying to come up with a blue for a show truck i was building. I liked it so much it I used it on the boat as well..
everythign is on track the bottom should be in paint thursday.

I look under my boat and see 2 huge hooks in the bottom. I'm sure its something the bulider built in to keep the boat in the water, and boy does it stick like glue! I wish I had an idea of how to begin to remove them. the boat is at a friends body shop now to be painted soon. When its turned over I will try and decide what to do. If you could post what you used and a few mor of the basic steps I'd sure appreciate it!

Well i'm in no way a professional and would really hate to give you bad advice. My boat was in bad shape and probably should have been tossed away instaed of fixed so my steps my be differen't from yours I'm not sure. There are alot of people on here that helped me, ask around and I'm sure they can give you sound advice.
You can see most of my steps in this thread and one further down the list i think titled turning my boat over tomorrow.
As a side note I finally got the boat polished and back on the trailer. now time to paint the top..

The flash on the camera really fades the blue but here is a better shot of the color http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data/500/709P5040268-med.JPG

Boat is coming along nicely. Good lookin' trailer too! Can't wait to see it all done. I just did the same thing by flipping the boat, having the bottom blueprinted, adding a shoe and rideplate, new loader, rebuilt the whole pump and the the bowl converted to a split bowl and had a droop installed. Just put in brand new motor-a 533 hp BBF with a tunnel ram with two 600 Holleys and aluminum heads. Can't wait for the summer!!!!

you forgot to mention if you went with 20oz or 40oz carpet and stainless or chrome trailer fenders.

looks great!
What i was wondering was what you filled the depressions in with, can you use duraglass or a similar product to fill and shape the bottom of the boat? Or did you grind and glass the bottom?
did you have to apply anything else before primer and paint?
Thanks

i had a very lage amount of hook so i removed all the paint and original gel and roughed up the glass.. then spent alot of hours laying new glass in the low spots. Then i used a dura-glass type product once it was really close. then skimmed over that with evercoat.
3 coats of filler primer on the body work. sanded that then 3 coats on the full bottom and wet sanded before paint.
Hope that helps some.
