The water pump on my 502 mag is starting to leak. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement part today in the Long Beach or surrounding area? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you only use your boat in fresh water, you can use an automotive water pump (Kragen, Pep Boys, etc.). A marine pump is the same, but with some brass components to prevent corrosion.
Is it a GM part? I put a Weiand Team G aluminum pump in mine (saved a couple pounds...wooohoooo- more pizza for me!)
I am not a Checker Hater...I am a "Checker Liberator"!

We both know you hate Checkers!;)
I do only use it in fresh water! What is the advantage/disadvantage to sticking to a marine pump? Is the only difference the brass for corrosion resistance? And how/why does it matter with a closed cooling system?

It won't matter on a closed cooling system.
Boat/US wants $155 for the marine one.

Side by side with the truck pump...I bet there isn't a difference. There wasn't on my Volvo.

No luck on the auto water pump. No one carried that one.
LB Yacht sales had one in stock that I was able to buy. They said this time of year they are pretty hard to find. I am glad they sold me one as they are not a parts store.
