Today i went out and bought a impact gun, was a craftsman gun and was rated at 500lbs of torque. Welp, that didnt do anything. in fact with that huge socket on it i was able to hold it in place. I'm gonna take it back... anyway, i decided to just cut the impuller nut off. After about a hour we got it split off and i proceded to put on the impeller puller. First all i have to say is holly shit was that thing on there tight, i had my big ass wrench holding the impeller puller while i nailed the thing with the impact gun and it was bearly moving, i tryed by hand and that was going to take about a year. Anyway, the impeller puller is definitly worth the money! Here's some pics of today... I like the one of the big ass wrench :)

Those impeller nuts can be a bitch, especially after being on there for thirty-odd years. Same with the impeller.
In looking at the pics, I have a piece of advice. Take off the transom adapter. It makes pulling the bowl a lot easier and you will want it off before you put the bowl back on.
That impeller is toast. The wear ring surface and shoulder look pretty bad. Probably passed a lot of sand between the wear ring and the impeller. The impeller appears to be an uncut Berkeley "A".

That impeller looks worn. This is what mine looked like.

I got this used one from a friend.

HTP rebuilt it for me for considerably less than new as well as doing some work to my shaft. Also they machined it for a matching ultimate wear ring. Might be a consideration if you dont wanna pop for new.
Here's what I ended up with. Seems to work great.

Good luck with your project.

Thanks for the advise. I've been talking with duane via PM about the it as well. I'm gonna be sending the shaft and impeller to him.
