Paint help

Need to remove stripe around the top and back of the boat. Registering the boat in a new state so I need to take off the numbers that are painted on as well. The stripe was obviously an after thought for someone. Its painted on top of the gel coat. Any recommendations on how to remove it. (easily I hope) :confused:

I had my numbers removed once when I reregistered my boat and I remeber the guy wetsanding them off. Good luck to you.

Oven cleaner works great for removing painted on numbers, and does not harm the gel

Do you think it would be safe to take down the stripe as well?
