What fans would work best to install in my amp compartment to keep them cool? Something quiet with a low amp draw.
Thanks

I am using fans from Radio Shack. In my application they are pretty quiet, and draw only .16 amps. They're around 16.99 or so.

I've found a push-pull setup seems to get the most air over them.

The worst place to mount the amps is in a closet. The only thing you could do worse than the closet...is put Crossfire amps in the closet.
However, there's only one thing that could make that setup even more dangerous- Crossfire amps in the closet with those ridiculous 6 volt golf cart batteries.
That is a dangereous setup. I've seen 4 boats burn down this week...
...and it's only Tuesday!

We use that setup quite a lot up here in Canada. It keeps the cuddy nice and warm in the cold winter months.

That's only when you bend over to look in the closet. Maybe you should stay out of the closet....

That setup will take care of any permafrost, eh?

If you care about noise levels, it's all about Panaflo fans.

Will those help quiet all the noise coming from GoatBlowing?

I'd have sufficient concentration to develop an opinion on that.

With the hot air coming from HH, he will need one of those fans you see in Palm Springs :p

Man, did this thread get hijacked right into the toilet :D

Phebus...sorry..;) did not mean to hijack...I use the turbo fans (I think they are called)....have two mounted under the flanked amps...actually crack the hatch an inch or two if I am blaring ...based on a tip from DCB....I noticed the amps do not get as hot that way and the girls can still layout...you can barely see the fans under the left and right amps...hope that helps.....Pay no attention to used beer cans...they are used for liquid cooling if the amps get too hot
:)

Hey Tom - how's panasonic's stock doing?
Speaking of toilets, what's everybody's favorite brand?
I'm thinking of making a run to Tom's local plumbing supply and picking up a 100 or 2 4 gallon flushers.

Now that was good...
But back to the subject at hand. I've done a few stereo's and used fans and every time have found out that the fans can't keep up. When your at Havasu and it's 115 all it's doing is blowing hot air. The greatest thing I did even though HH wont get out of there is what I call the stereo room. Where the fridge is on the Party Effect I made a room for all my amps and when I played it hard I opened the door on the closet and never had a shut down problem. So fans to me are not that much as a help unless you use the Palm Springs versions.
