there is no school on saturday!!! it's not a play ground!
Th 90 bucks is not he problem its about 2 hours wages,
it's the point of trying to stick a guy with speeding in a school zone on a weekend, during the week the school zone is on 3 sides of my place,
and a play ground on one side, where i always drive 20kmh,I just think this is total crap!!

OK, before or after Taxes? Seeming how your taxes are 65% of your wages, this is an important question. Next is there GST/PST on top of the ticket?
Relax Hool' I'm just f'n with you.

I wish I had photo radar, to take pics of some of the cops around here who think cause they have the red rollers on the roof they can slide through stop signs and do 50 over the limit whenever they please.
OG...40%:p ,which is another thread:D

How is it posted? Our School zones are posted "MON-FRI" now but they used to be posted "School Days". Of course, playgrounds are posted at a lower speed all the time.
If it's posted "MON-FRI", just take a picture of the sign to traffic court and it's a done deal. If it's not posted with day of the week restrictions, stump up the 90 bucks and learn to read the ****ing signs. :D

You may be able to fight this one and win. I know that out her ein Calipornia, school zone speed limits only apply when school is in session , or an organized sanctioned school eent is taking place. However, this may not apply up there, as kids running across the street in showshoes cannot run as fast as those here in board shorts & flip flops! :D

School zones are even more confusing here. They used to be "08:00 - 22:00", but that seemed to give a few people trouble (morons...), so the city said "ok, if that's too confusing, we'll just go 24/7".
The problem is now that there are 2 standards. They aren't all consistent. Some school zones are 08:00 - 22:00 while others are 24/7 (just don't indicate a time [default: all the time.])
The only good thing about it is that we can't afford enough cops to actually monitor it. The small police force we do have spends most of the time catching impaired drivers.
Soon to be a law here: max 60 kms when passing tow trucks. What a crock of shit.

Well I'm on this like Brown on a muffin <---- (HA HA HA),according to our city policy it's during school days and according hours, the kicker is I have to take a day off to fight this bloody thing, and I can't just take 1 day off,it
has to be 5 and at 600 a day, plus the travel time and milage( sorry kilometerage :D )to get to Red Deer, that's a good chunk of change to lose, to save 90 bucks!
so I'm gonna get a hold of a buddie of mine who is a lawyer and see if I can take the city to small claims court to recoup what I will lose!

being that you are in Canada, I don't know how your system treats these kinds of tickets.
In Folsom where I live they gave the Photo Radar a try in the early 90s and ended up dumping it because so many of the tickets were challenged in court that the Overtime costs for the city outstripped the revenue generated.
You can certainly challenge it... what you got to lose besides perhaps some work time.......?

Yes, I heard similar stories here. If you challenged it in court, there was a high likelyhood you would get off. Also the PD had to send an officer to defend the setup of the machine. That cost them too much overtime and with most tickets being dismissed, it wasn't worth the headache.
 :D
