When breaking down my old logs the riser gasket ( for lack of better terms ) appeared to be solid ( no ports cut out ) they are glenwood logs and have 2 taps in the logs and one in the riser.
The way it looks is that the riser has its own feed is this correct ?

Did your logs and risers look like this?

As far as the separate feed, yes. Water comes from the pump to the logs, from the logs to the block, then out of the block and to the risers.

Yes they have their own feed. Water comes from the thermostat housing to the risers to dump the water overboard.

Can you use silicone to mate those pieces or do you need to get a gasket from rex?

You wont be able to use silicone because the logs have the holes in them and don't have a flat sealing surface. Gaskets from Rex are cheap.
