I know there's some lurker B to V people who will probably be out there. Heard it's windy out there, should make the run interesting, as always.
Have fun, see you at the Hilton Sun. afternoon!

I ran B2V 8 years straight, been off the last 3. Don't miss the late night chill/wait to run, but will be good to see old friends on Sun. night. I remember the view across the desert and all the amber lights from the follow vehicles in the distance as a pretty cool sight to see.

Never ran but did support at 0230, in the snow, not fun.
Knees can't take it anymore and 8 minute miles don't make the team.....
After party this year will be off the hook.

Chris, Ya that too:) Ya spoke to Jennifer, she thought I was 2 away from the mold, but wasn't sure. Barry was gone and Bob was really busy riggin so I didnt get a for sure answer so I'll just keep waiting :( It's going to get much harder as it starts to heat up around here.

Our team captain said San Diego (I don't know Co. or City) is the favorite with CHP statewide, O.C. Sheriff's, LASO Central Jail and LASO SEB as top contenders. We're in a transition year, we're gunning to finish in the top ten. One runner out on any team and things can change fast, that's for sure.

With that said, I will go with MCJ,
I know how they stack the team.

I ran leg 4 two years ago and supported the following year. Im not quite as fast as I used to be and I seem to be having a harder time of pushing myself until I puke. It is a damn good time.

LASO CJ always wins. I think the brass selects certain deps to do nothing more than train for Baker to Vegas and the PoPo Olympics.

Yep.......our team (ocsd) does pretty well......but so does Anaheim PD......but your right........some teams stack the deck every year.

Ran it six times, got six mugs. I've run in both the 150 and 300 categories, but this year the team crumbled due to injuries and surgeries.
Unless we can put together a competitive team next year, I think I'm gonna hang it up. I like sports of all kinds, but I HATE just plain old running. I always looked at it as 40-50 minutes worth of hell for a weekend worth of good friends and partying!
To those running this year: Good luck, lean into the hills, and give it a good kick in the end!

I've ran leg 4 as well, that is one hell of a leg, just keeps going up.
The rules state a runner has to be in the particular division by a certain cut off date. LASO is particular about moving the fastest to that jail on time.
I think LASO is pissed they let their sheriff run the last leg one year (I think last?) and he lost them the race. I heard it was quite the disappointment.
I did'nt miss not going the last couple years. I did the team captain/runner combined thing twice and that was hell, way too much planning for a damn run in the desert.

Never ran it but used to run the command post for one of the LASO teams when I was still pushing a radio car. I'm not a runner...I'm more of a liesure enthusiast. It's great to see old friends out there though, I wisk I was going this year but have to work.

That would be San Diego CITY.....we won it all last year. Almost always run in the Top 3 but they could never get past and LA FBI team until last year....

We finished 7th overall, 4th in Open category. Considering we had only half of the champion runners who have won this race 4 times in a row (99-02), we're stoked we did so well. The powers that be have decided it's time for Metro Red to return to the top. We'll be back in contention in 05, standby to standby/ LOL!

Tustin got third this year in our group. The heat really killed the guys. I was told the day temp was 102 degrees and the asphalt was about 130. :(
We had first place last year but I guess your only as good as your last race. :yuk:
I stayed home to cover the bureau. Had a lab callout on Friday night and all day Saturday. Another tweeker bites the dust. :D
Congrats to everyone who participated, runners and support staff. A lot of work goes into this thing every year.

Hey H2O - We hate those Murietta guys too! (J/K)
They took our First in the 99 Cat. We used to run in the 150 or 300 and finally decided to do it with only our pd. Hopefully Murietta will be too big for the 99 next year and Tustin, Colton and Glendora will have a good race!

Well we lost 13 runners this year and I heard we placed 6 in the open div. I left Havasu ran my leg and was back on my way to Havasu. I run for MCJ and it felt like shit watching these teams hit the shoot 30 min before you. I still think we did good for having 13 virgins who have never ran before.
