The new Chevy 6.0 is due in marine form in 60 days.
Is anyone making a kit for it yet?

Is this the same motor that was tested by Fountain? Do you know if there is infomation on the Merc site yet?
With that kind of HP from a small block are they going to adjust the 496/8.1 packages.
It would also seem like a Scorpion would be kinda pointless unless you have $ to waste.

I know its the 6.0 from Chevy and its been tested at 385 hp by a ski boat builder. I believe the final power rating will be 345-355 hp in a stern drive.
Merc will have a conflict with this engine. They make a stroked 350/5.7 chevy themselves by changing out the crank and other parts thenselves.
This new one is a stock, buy complete from Chevy engine new for 2003.
Availble in 60 days. Some call it the Cadillac engine as they use it in their version of the Tahoe to make it the most powerful SUV in the world. The boat version has more power than that.
The new engine uses different heads and should make more power at a much lower cost than the Merc engine, due to the heads and other upgrades (like coil near plug) and the much bigger production line run when chevy makes it for all marine engine brands.
Is there a kit for this engine?

It is supposed to be 50-55 hp stronger than a marine 5.7 and 20-30 hp weaker than a 496. And its 175 pounds lighter than a 496/8.1.

Does anyone know who is developing hi-po parts for this now?
