Would there be any good reason to use a 25lb. flywheel instead of a 40lb.(current one)flywheel? The application is a 546in. blower motor coupled to a bravo 1.

hmm seems to me that as you stab the throttle any extra weight will add to twist the crank might have. Thats just dead weight hangin there so lighten up the boat and get rid of it . Most people I know agree to lighten your reciprocating weight if at all possible...but who am I to say....just .02

Sounds like enough to try.
Thanks

The heavier flywheel will smooth out the idle a little with a big cam too (if you have a big cam). While it's true you'll see a little quicker acceleration with a lighter flywheel it's not even going to hardly be noticeable. The difference in an alum wheel which is lighter still is sometimes hard to feel. Just my .03. :)
