Well, I had a great time. I got to meet lots of new people as well as finally meet some off of the boards. Sat and talked with Chris Winn Sunday morning, he's a hell of a nice guy. Too bad about all the heat he took awhile back. Got to hook up with Shadow for a little bit during our lunch break in the channel. I kept missing Jackpunx, we were always heading different directions.
The day started off a little rough, when I got off of the water Friday we saw signs saying that London Bridge road would be closed on Sat morning from 6-10am for the triathelon. My boat is stored on that street, and there was no clear indication if the entrance to Windsor would be blocked as well. So I got up at 4:30 picked up the boat drove to the Windsor lot and finished sleeping there. Other than that, it was an awesome day, the wind laid down nicely. It was awesome watching all the high dollar boats run, I can't even put into words how sick some of them were. The run got split into 7 different starts, not based on boat speeds like in the past. Didn't make much difference to me as I only run a little over 60 anyway. But some of the fast people like Unleashed were stuck back in group 4. I had boats from group 7 pass me up and go way out of site. I know this was done as a safety issue to keep the pack sizes down, but I think it created some safety concerns. Unfortunately that's how the Coast Guard/ Local LE wanted it. I had a blast running full throttle down the lake with a big group. I was a little disappointed with my hands though, my best was 8s and 10s. Not nearly enough to be in the money. the lowest winning hand was 4Q's with a jack kicker I think. A certain esteemed member of the boards came away with the 2nd best hand.:D Then his son made off with the kids Grand Prize:D I managed to make off with a little something for myself, my name was drawn for a Poker Run edition Lifeline vest. How cool is that? I originally was only gonna spectate this run and then join in the Fall Heatwave, I'm glad I didn't wait. Art and Jim announced that this would be the last Heatwave run put on by them.:( Too bad, they did an awesome job and had a great staff helping them get things done behind the scenes.

Good post Kachina, roln20s and I saw your boat more times than we could count....as well as a bunch of other board members. Unfortunately, that cheapskate hasn't bought his howard yet;) so we were stuck on the sidelines in his malibu ski boat.:D
Sure was fun to watch the big boys fly by! Afterwards we cruised down to the springs to meet up with jackpunx and the eliminated sprinter crew for lunch while I made vroom vroom noises in the passenger seat and pretended we were going 160.:D

I'm terrible with names and faces, but I waved alot! We spectated from down past SteamBoat on the AZ side. It's always a pleasure running up on MBrown and crew, I never get tired of seeing the graphics on that bad 26. Tobtek, nice to meet you in person finally, and I think I passed Roln20's on our way down the lake, like I said I'm not good with names or faces.;) :D It was a great weekend for boating though.

I’m not surprised. .. I had a great time .. just like anytime at the river.. but ... I was expecting to see big boats running really fast.. Maybe we were in the wrong spot.. (don’t thinks so) .. but they were not going that fast.. Either way.. Very cool weekend.. got to meet a lot of BBSP's from up north.. got to hang with Elim sprinter, Forspeed, rolln, RD,,passed Kachina a bunch of times.. Rolled up to Topoc for lunch with Unleashed, Tom slick, Skullinator and crew.. Hung with Tobtek and Racer52 and a tons more.. Those guys work really hard to put on these poker runs. It takes months of planning and you still will run in to hurdles. This year was definitly dissapointing as they had to limit 25 boats at a time but it was a Coast Guard decision for safety. Oh well I still had a good time and appreciate all the hard work that goes into these events. Hopefully someone will be able to take over for these guys as its trully one of the best runs of the year.

When the 1st wave of boats went by me they looked like they were going pretty fast! You could see the helicopter over head so I knew they were coming. Then the roar of the engines and spray flying high behind all the big cats. It was awesome. I think I need to liquidate everything I own sink my money into a big fast cat! OK, maybe that's not such a smart business move so I'll just play the lottery and hope! Here's some of the pics I took.
This cat seemed as wide as my boat is long! The picture doesn't do it justice.

hello Kachina 26
it was really great to meet you guys as well, your boat looks even better in person!
it was a great run, not too many breakdowns- and the weather was just perfect, could not have asked for better ballance of heat and wind.
we had a really good time hanging out with Deano from Unleashed (his family is really cool!) and i can personally testify that his boat runs at 120+ (that was the smoothest ride that i have ever taken at that kind of speed) we shall have to do that again soon.
we got to meet a ton of people out at the sand bar on saturday, too bad we had to head back early to turn in the cards it would have been nice to stay.

Deano,
I think, but do not hold me to it, I got some good video of you going by at well over 100mph. Your boat looked amazing. If it turns out as good footage I will burn it on a DVD for you and send it to you.

It was a great weekend. Glad I got to hang with so many of you: Hulshot, Racer52, Tobtek, Jackpunx, 4speedup, Havasu Dreamin Crew, Travis (hcb26), Eliminator Sprinter, and so many more. Xtrm22- I did see you and wave- too bad we didn't get to just chill. Maybe next time. Tobtek- whats the damage?
Deano the boat looked bad ass. Kachina26--to date, you have the best looking Kachina on the water- the graphics just gleam. Warlock 25- boat looked awesome on the water. I'll have to contact you for some cleaning stuff.
CBudge- your Bullet is just bad ass- wish I got a closer look. It looked great running by.
All in all a great weekend. ONly one bad thing- my fifty dollar trip turned into $850 when I blew my pnion bearing in the rear end of my truck 50 miles from home. That sucked, but we had a good time, so whats another 800 bucks for a good time:mad:
Zack- I will have that Howard sooner than later- just be patient my little ***boater:D

Who finished in front at the 1st card stop? Prime Marine Skater?
When they went by us about 1/2 mile south of Steamboat, it looked like the Prime Marine Skater, another Skater and Predator 3rd....still seemed like they were building speed...

Exactly, Jackpunx, you, Roln, and another boat were rafted up behind us and those boats were not going that fast when they went by us....guess I will go anchor further down in the future....if there is a future...
I guess Predator was giving them a little rope in the beginning..:)

There is a video that was shown at the dinner on saturday night who was on the cliffs across from sandpoint. It clearly shows Predator in the lead by quite a bit.
There were several boats that took off before the pace boat dropped the flagg and Predator wasnt one of them.Predator caught them just past steamboat cove.At the water pumping station the lead was almost a mile before we lost a drive trim line and backed down.We were the first boat to the card stop, followed by junkman racing then two skaters from colorado th
en Bob Leach in a 28 Daytona with viper v-10s.
Prime time marine was not at this poker run.

Thanks for the info S40...I was going off second hand info; when I saw you going by Steamboat, you were in close third and pulling, and I was not sure who the Skaters were..
