I didn't go into Laughlin, but I spent the weekend in Needles and saw literally hundreds of bikes. Some VERY nice, others very average. I saw my favorite bikes of the weekend on 40 Sunday evening, on a trailer, behind a black van with a plate that simply said, "X VAN". These were really cool bikes!!!
One question I have for the big group bikers among us.....why do they travel in the fast lane, and force us to pass them on the wrong side??? This happened to me a number of times, going both ways this weekend.

Yeah they are not a very intimidating looking group. But the fact there were about quite a lot of them in town. We had run in's with them everywhere. Makes it hard for a guy to have a good time when you you gotta watch your 6 all the time.
What about the Bike race on Sat morning? Made that kinda rough trying to maneuver the trailer towards the water. It was like a huge burden lifted after we finnaly got on. It was still a good weekend even with those inconviences. Got to see some awesome boats. Running pretty hard, Seems like they were not going all out because of all the traffic.

That was stupid! To close off those streets teh weekend of a poker run and when they had all of the people in town that chose not to stay in Laughlin.
What are the colors of the Vagos? We were sitting at Smoketree and 95 on Sunday morning and a group of about 20-30 Harleys, all with green bandanas and green on the jackets go crusing South on 95 with LHCPD right behind them. Was curious if that was the Vagos or just some "regular"club. I only ask becasue someone here said the Vagos were in town and I thought with the PD following them it made sense that they were not your "normal" motorcycle club.

"normal" motorcycle club.
Whats normal about a gang?
why do they travel in the fast lane, and force us to pass them on the wrong side???
Two lane road, the number 1 lane is safer.

I do not think I will do it again. The ride out Thursday was windy, and Friday is was just as windy. Every booth was selling either West Coast Chopper or Orange County Chopper stuff. There was nothing new, maybe 1/2 the people from previous years, and the policia was out in full force. You can almost sense that it is slowly dying off. I had more fun taking the boat out on Saturday and watching the poker run, and hanging at the sandbar. Just my opinion.

My group is done with it for good.
They now do a Cambria run instead. An awsum ride, fun weekend.
The reasoning is the Laughlin run used to a be reasonably priced, unique event.
Now, you ride across the desert seeing billboards advertising rooms at $17 dollars, that you paid $450 for.
Nothing to do with the 81's incident,, it's just lost it's appeal to us.
A generous bunch those casino owners,,

I don't know about you guys but I will be back every year simply because I have a place in BHC. We bring the party with us so we always have a good time. I had posted on here about meeting in Gasoline Ally Saturday at noon and a few of you said you would stop by. Nobody did....maybe it was too choppy for your particular boat but the Shockwave ate it up. Nodigg was out with his boat and we had about 4 boats tied up with the new stereo in my boat pumping the tunes all day. We tore GA up until about 6:30P.
The Run itself I believe has lost a lot of what made it good but I still enjoy being around all the bikes. They shut down the outside venues too early as they are trying to push people into the casinos. They ran our group out of the tent in front of the CO Belle on Saturday night. We were the last ones there. I believe the band stopped playing around 11...that is lame.
I won a substantial amount of money in the casinos Wed night so I decided to pass it around for everybody in our group to enjoy. We did just that. The BBQ's were incredible and the alcohol was flowing. It was another great party weekend and everybody got home safe.
Anyhow....when I can I will try to post some pics....seems there were not many bike pics though....lol Took a lot on the boat though.
I personally can't wait till Hollister ove 4th July weekend.

Friday 12 noon in Gasoline Ally. Look for the Shockwave Tremor, loud music, women and Nodiggs No Doubt CHettah deck.
Sorry we couldn't make it up there Tom! I thought about ya though. We had a great family weekend in Needles/Havasu though.
