They are a definate must with a daytona,I have had them on my 22 and 25.Handles alot better at speed and will help with any porpoise you might have.
Call Phil Bergeron he builds the best around and knows how too make a daytona run faster than anybody.Remember he likes coors light http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif

Tunnel extensions? They can actually make you run quicker? I thought they were just kinda like Trim tabs on a v-bottom to help you plain out faster.. Perhaps I'm thinking of the wrong thing.. Can someone post a pic of a tunnel extension?

Donnie,I thought RD had a Nordic????? RD,if you want a pic, I send you one of my set up. They mount flush with the top of the tunnels. They allow me to run less up trim and get the stern out a little. Also gets rid of some of the mid range porpoise a lot of cats have.
Craig
Pleasantcat, don't know if I'll make it Sunday. Lot to do around the house before we blaze to Havasu next Friday. Maybe.....

Craig, I recieved your pictures! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif Good looking setup! I'm surprised that they don't extend down the sides of the tunnel as well. (Obviously not all the way to waterline, but ya know like a tapering up extension) Has anyone ever tried that?
I'm not really sure how these things work becuase it would seem to me that as soon as the air passed throught the tunnel it would just escape out the sides.. Do the make these that are hydraulic as well?

I originally had Bennett trim tabs there. Got the benefits of putting them down when I had to get a couple of big asses http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif on plane. Had to change over when I went to the external steering. It was just a mounting location conflict. The tabs are actually adjusted about a 1/4" down. As the air exits the tunnels, this tends to compress the air a little and give you some lift. Could be BS, but that's what we're told!!! I would think some vertical extensions on the side might help, who knows?? The boat does handle well above a hundred as long as the water isn't a washing machine. Then the boat will remind you there's only barely more then 20 feet from transom to bow, regardless of the fact that they call the boat a "22" http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif You going to be around Havasu this coming weekend?

Secret, you don't want no damn extentions on your boat, we call those "water brakes" and they are only for the tuna crowd!
Need to get yo shit out of da water, not put more stuff in it!

Shit... Craig I accidentally deleted your e-mail when i was cleaning out my inbox/trash..
If you re-email them to me one more time I'll put them on the web for you..
or......
Goto www.***boat.net (http://www.***boat.net) click on "Find It"
to enter the media center. Click on Post your picture, select category.. Click Browse, and it will bring up the directories of your computer. Find the picture and double click on the file. Wait a second (or if your on dial up and hour http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif) and the image will appear.
Then right mouse click on the pic, and "copy image location."
Then type "["IMG"]" paste the image location here.. make sure it ends with .jpg "["/IMG"]"...
Take all the quotation marks out of that and it should work! (The quotation marks are there becuase it will try to post an image if there not.)

Lets see if I get the dreaded RED X
No, X, but RD, what did I do wrong? My right click didn't have a "copy image location", so I copied from the properties.

Go to the picture (Not the thumbnail) Right click on your mousebutton.
Copy the image location (If your in Nutscrape)
Type "["IMG"]" paste the image location, make sure it ends with .jpg then type "["/IMG"]"
Note!! There's not suppose to be any quotation marks, but if they weren't there you couldn't see what I was typing. The IMG's also have to be capitalized.

Those do like nice craig I didn't see those before...trade yer scoop for em? hehehe hey Also Dana makes some that are hydraulic instead of pre-set.. DCB uses them and they are powdercoated for donnie!!!...just a thought

Craig
05-17-2002, 11:40 AM
Yeah, I put the tabs on when I put the steering on with the blown 454 a couple of years ago. I wouldn't mine having some adjustables like Danas. I had Bennett trim tabs there before the steering. Worked almost as good and let me plant them to get the boat on plane when I had some weight in the boat. I'll probably just stick with the fixed ones for now. Need to get my GS going in the garage. Maybe I'll powerdercoat the tabs this winter! The pic I took of Donnie swooning over your DCB came out good! I'll shoot you a copy this weekend.
