Let's just say we stayed a little too far to the right on the way up to the sand bar.

Here comes my vessel assist.

At least the weather was nice and so were my friends. :D

Two of us got stuck and it took about an hour to get the boats out. At least it was just stinky marshy mud and not hard sand! After this it was back to the channel to end a great day.

Damn Dude, I also got stuck for the first time ever this weekend. I went to go check out the BBSP and low and behold hit a sandbar and had to shut her off. Took a good half hour to get it off. Guess I wont be doing that again.

Yeah, it was my first time too. I saw my buddy to my left shut it down and I knew I was screwed. He was in a 21' Caliber 1 and doesn't sit as deep in the water as me. I was trimmed all the way up and hit the throttle and followed the dark water. When the dark water ran out I shut it off and stopped pretty quick! Everything worked out fine so it'll be just another story to tell. :)
Deano I pulled into the channel after that and parked one boat over from you. I was going to say hi but you pulled out about 5 minutes later.

I'm doing it this week! I kept a close eye on my temp guage on the way back.
Deano, I'll probably be back there in a couple of weeks so we can meet up then.

I have my impellers checked regularly especially with all the trips to the Sandbar.

Damn Matt, that never happens when you are following me. Sorry we couldn't make it this past weekend, Ms. EduKATor ran in the La Jolla half marathon. I still haven't made it out to Havasu this season, work has me busy even on the weekends. I want to get out sometime soon, but I don't know if I want to follow you anymore. I'm glad you and the family didn't get hurt.

If I don't get to use my boat prety soon, I am going to have to change the name to "bad gas" cuz it will be turpentine.

Phat Matt--Glad to see no harm no fowl. You must have been one channel to the right from the main center entrance. My buddy took that way once and seriously f'd up the bottom of his 24 Hawaiin. Another good story for your file!!!

EduKATor, I blame you for not going this weekend! If you would have taken the lead everything would have been fine. :D When are you going to make it up this year? We'll probably be up in 2 or 3 weeks again. Everyone is OK and Bud loved it. The water was shallow enough for him to run around.
Carguy, yeah, we just a little too far to the right. Bummer.

I'm getting my students ready for their AP test on May the 7th and i'm helping some with their portfolios for college. Students first you know. After May 7th, the school year is pretty much over, so its going to be on then. Well that and Ms. EduKATor has been training on the weekends for a marathon in June. So it might just be my bro and I until Memorial day.

When you get stuck like that, how do you get it loose? Wait for the water to rise? Or do you just do lot's of pushing?

Everyone out of the boat, inlcuding the dog, and lift and push. If that didn't work we probably would have waited it out a bit. We had other friends there with boats so we wouldn't have been stuck there all night. The water was pretty low so I would think it could only go up. We were having a great day and then, bam, buzz kill.

when we had our little 19 ft Sea Ray, we slowed down there (first time) and got stuck, not in the channel, but just to the east of the main channel, where it shallow.
we were able to pull ours out to deeper water.
now we just blaze through (on the correct side)
It gets confusing, though, especially if there are a bunch of boats out.....
:D
