Ok, I have a 1998 454 mag and I had a whipple put on it and now I get gas in the oil. Everything else on the engine is stock. The engine had less than 40hours on it. Before the Whipple and did not have this problem. The computer has been reprogamed twice so I don't think thats it. I had a compression test run and it came out 140# each hole. So it's not blowing by the rings. Has anyone had this problem before or have any suggestion on what could be the problem. I need to get this figures out befor it costs me an engine. Thanks in advance for any help anyone could give.

check your fuel pressure.

We did that also 38# on a manual gauge but the gauge on the dash says 41#

there should be a loop in your manifold for the fuel, make sure you don't have a crack in the manifold, we had a system on a 454 mag that did that with a procharger setup.this should cause a miss with the raw fuel in the manifold. are you getting black specs out the back of the boat?

The tail pipes get pretty black after a day out on the water. I dont have any misses or hesitation. How would I check for a crack in the manifold?

if you don't have a miss, then most likely there isn't a crack. what is the recommended fuel pressure? have you run the boat at speed and checked the plugs? we run our fuel pressure at 32 to 34 on the large procharger systems.where is your timing set?

36# - 38# I belive is the recommended fuel pressure. I have had the mechanic check the plugs and they looked fine. I don't know where the timing is at or where it should be. any suggestions?

sorry, i'm at a loss without seeing how its plumbed. if the plugs are good then ignition isn't an issue. have you tried calling whipple, they are fairly helpful, and they will actually talk to you.

I have called and talked to Dustin and he is VERY nice but nothing seems to work. One last thing I do remember my mechanic saying when he took off the throttle body it was was full of gas. Any help?

i will look at my mercmanual and look at the fuel routing on the manifold again and maybe something i am forgetting something. sorry to be so little help to this point.
