What happens when you introduce a fast-moving 42' Fountain to a firmly planted 65' tall tree. Ouch!

Lake Hartwell. The beak was brand new. Ejected the crew and visited the woods at full throttle (no lanyards) from what I read on another site.

I was camping when this guy was drunk running full throttle at
night, he got disoriented and ramed his boat into the mountain.
His boat was a 100 feet up the shoreline in the trees.

A guy that was looking at buying my Eliminator told me of a friend of his that had a 30 footer with a single engine instead of twins like mine that had gotten thrown from it on the river and he didn't have his lanyard hooked up either. The boat went on down river and struck a bridge piling or something, tore the boat open from close to the bow to about amidships......:( And it was repaired, not totalled..........

How in the hell do you get tossed. Is it really that easy? Holy crap I cannot imagine gettin tossed out of a boat, especially a V like that Fountain.

Hell I have almost been tossed by my little 18 footer when pushing its limits.......his a roller wrong it does happen......especially when the chop is from other boats not the wind..........That would suck though........It looked like a nice boat before it happend....it must have hit HARD to split the hull like that...I always thought fountains had an extreemly stong bottom...

That's just a sickening sight. Fountains are beautiful boats. It sounds like there were no major injuries thank God.

Y'all are all wrong, according to the witness's he was mumbling something along the lines of "hold my beer and watch this" :D :D .
In all serious I hope that nobody got hurt and that everything goes smoothly with the repair or replacing. That would suck..
