i under stand that there is a 10 hour brake in period on this engine after that will it loosen up any more? im not running as fast as i should i was wondering if it takes more than 10 hours to make it run at 100% im from wisconsin and i do not know much about motors but when i buy a new snowmobile every year after about 500 miles you can really see the improvement over the first 100 mile thanks

My motor builder told me after you break in the cam, put it to the wood. and 30 years later I'm still putting it to the wood. Originally posted by dallas:

I have also heard that the computer richens up the mixture for the first 50hrs or so to help during breakin. Not sure if true or not but i will soon see cause my buddies Powerquest 380 Avenger has just hit the 50hr mark. We'll see if the fuel economy changes any at all or if it feels any faster. It does have a dirty transome after every run so far from a rich mixture though.
