I think i have seen this before but don't remember the answer...what is the best way to remove decals from your boat?
You know, the decals manufacturers and dealers stick all over the place? It seems like i heard u can do it with a hair dryer...is that right? Without damaging the paint?
Help!!

Hair dryer or heat gun, that's how I've done it in the past....

Hair dryer or heat gun to remove the vinyl...Buy a can of 3m general purpose adhesive cleaner to remove the glue...It can be bought anywhere auto paint is sold....It works quickest, but you can use wd40 as well, its just slower

My father has been in auto body for the last 30+ years and he used heat guns too but lately he has been useing a type of eraser that fits in the chuck of a drill and just takes the decals right off!
I think it is made be either Wurth or 3M
It kind of reminds me of an artgum eraser.

The "eraser" spoken about above is made by 3M...
It is called Scotch-Brite "Molding Adhesive & Strip Removal Disc" (Part# 07501)
It is a 4" series of "rubber" discs that through the use of their "Roloc" disc holder (Part# 07500) can be mounted to an air "die grinder" spun at 2,000 - 3,000 R.P.M. (4,000 MAXIMUM)
It does a GREAT job of removing the adhesive residue and NOT harming the painted surfaces...
