Question for everyone knowledgable.
How do they get away with removing the water pump, you know the one like on cars.
Is the raw water pump beefy enough to circulate all of the water through the block when you put on a water crossover kit. Or do you need to go to a heavier type pump.
Also how many of you run thermostats?

JT,
I have had good luck with the brass Jabsco or mercruiser HP sea pumps with a crossover. They are capable of exceeding 30 lbs of block water pressure at high speeds. I like to bleed off a small amount of pressure and keep about 22-25 lbs of block pressure at WOT. I run a thermostat on all of my N/A EFI motors, but I have had the best luck leaving the thermostat out of all of my blown motors, which seem to want to run about 100-110 degrees in the heat of summer. Unless your on Mohave up by Willow Beach, then you wont ever see it over 100.:D

I am currently switching my Whippled HP500 to a thermostat and bypass setup. Our water temps. are too cold up here, and the motor does not build ANY heat, as you can see from my dash picture.....

I have the same heat problem. Is it bad for the engine to run 90-100 degrees?

Yes that is too cold IMO, I'm going to use a 120 deg. t-stat. But the more important question is how the hell are you running over 100mph at 2000 rpm??????:D

1975 X-18 Donzi Arneson ASD6 Procharged Small Block. She spinning 6400 in that photo, but I have wound her up a little tighter for a few seconds but the gps can't keep up to quick speed adjustments.
What are you running?

1997 Stoker 22' HP500 Whipple @7 lbs., Max Machine Worx B1. Goes a bit faster than the picture, but my passenger goofed up the other pics. Going to step it up a little:wink: for the summer, still under research and development:D

That's a cool boat. I read a article on the one with a HP500 w/out the blower. They handle great!!!
That's a funny looking whipple?http://www.whipplesuperchargers.com/images/productimages/500_hp.jpg

Thanks, it does handle great so far.
Your boat is way cool, that is some crazy shit you got going on there! So let me get this straight, you are running 110+ mph in an 18' v-hull with a procharged small block??? That is some bragging rights for sure!:o

No bragging right's here. I'm not sure how fast she goes.
The acceleration is most fun thing about her.
I thought it looked different. The blower looked larger.
