If you look closely you'll see that the hull is actually a slightly modified Splash of a mid to later 70's Brendella Pickle Scoop "Flattie" (Like the Black Mamba). I would hazard a guess that the hull was laid up in the Merced, CA area.
If I'm right, it is not a true tunnel boat in the classic sense ... It's a hybrid which has some rather unique hull design (bottom)characteristics which can be tricky to set up properly for recreational boating. Not knocking it, just cautioning ... Know What Your Buying.

Bear, I would agree from looking at the two pics of him running pretty hard. The attitude of the boat appears pretty wet.
