well just about done, the only thing left is to take it back down to Dave @ DNE tomorrow and get her started again.
I have got to thank Tom Papp, he told me I wouldn't miss freeboard challenged and he kept his word, not only that but he didn't cut any corners to do it either, it's rigged and plumbed so nice I couldn't ask for anything more. I highly recommend Tom Papp Racing, he is a great guy who does great work. Thanks also to brent down there, he could have easly clocked out at 5 but stayed late several nights to make sure I could take it home today.

Looks great Bill!!! Be careful in that thing at high speeds so it don't pitch ya out the side. Those CP Gullwings have a tendancy to start rocking from side to side after you get over 105 or so.
Oh yeah, if you ever decide that ya wanna sell it;) I have a Biesemeyer Flatbottom circle boat that's great in the rougher stuff....maybe trade???? I'm gonna head back to strictly Jet boats for certain reasons:rolleyes: :D

Hey bigboy - If you could fit 2 more seats in that thing we would almost have a deal.
327 - it's set up at 15 over making 7 pounds and a little over 800 horse - it made 900 on the dyno with 10.5 pounds

Hey Bill, ya may be able to! I'm thinking those back to back style seats would fit. Check out the pics at http://www.pritek.net/bboat/ and see what ya think. Also, you can see a video of me running the boat at PCR yesterday 5/8/04 here http://www.pritek.net/bboat/5-8-04.mpg And before ya ask, I was taking it easy and not going very fast. The boat is alot faster than what I was going in the video. And to top it off, that is only a dual carbed (750's) 468 BBC in it. Think what it could do with a blown motor:eek: :D

Long storry short it looks like Hacker is a definite for the dyno tomorrow! The motor looked more bad ass than it really is with those huge head studs stickin up waiting to anchor down those crapy heads :D
For Hacker... The bottoms buttoned, lifters are in, front plate and goodies are on, plenty of room for the block off with the extra clearance on the plate. Carbs were being worked and the man in charge sounded confident and even went as far as to say he wouldn't even have to stay til midnight :)
Congrats on the build bro, I can't wait to get the call from the dyno tomorrow.

Big Proppa
05-12-2004, 06:44 AM
Gunslinger - Yes it has the 1" stringers and I think it's a 1978. I wouldn't imagine the hull weighing less then 550 pounds but maybe as much as 750 or so.
Hey CS19 I'll see ya about 3 today.

gunslinger
05-12-2004, 06:52 AM
Thanks Proppa- mine has the larger stringers 1.5". The hull is a 85 or 86 also a 19 footer. I called Scotten to find out how much it weighed. Bill told me he has only made a handful of lightweight 19' hulls and one crashed awhile back at a race. If I am rembering correctly he said they are about 650-750 lbs. Mine is light, I dont think it weighs 650. Nice boat btw.

Big Proppa
05-12-2004, 07:02 AM
Thanks - Do you have any pictures of yours to post. My hull is layed up heavy enough for the girls to lay on the deck but you can push the side in a little I definatley wouldn'y consider it light so I bet your right it's more in the 650 to 750 ranged. Are you coming out to the freeboard challenged event?.

05-12-2004, 05:35 PM
Wont make it this time. Took the boat out today for a shake down at Casitas. This thing will be perfect for the river. My girl will be able to drive it and it is safe. Handles great and quick for what it is. Really turns well, I was having a good time. Only got to jump on the throtle briefly, wind was up, water was crappy. The cp looks good on the water. Overall I was happy, but.... I think this boat wants to go faster.

Big Proppa what speeds do you expect to see and what hp are you running?I just bought an cp 18 with a blown 468.It was making 900hp but i'm turning to 750 to run pump gas. Also have you had any experience with them rocking from side to side at over 100?
thanks

gunslinger
05-13-2004, 09:47 AM
I was wondering the same thing about them rocking side to side at over 100. I took my 19' out yesterday. Too much wind to stay it it for any extended time. Went back in a channel where the conditions were better and romped on it for a short pass. It ran 95.7 mph on gps. Real stable no rocking rode real flat. When the wind stops blowing and I can take it out on the main body of water, i'll see what it will do.

HBjet
05-13-2004, 09:51 AM
for what its worth, I have never heard or seen a gullwing rocking back and fourth. I would think the hull design would eliminate that.

The motor made 900 but I'm running it at a little over 800
It does start to rock a little back and forth at about 118 but it only last just until I cross over the 130 mark which is usually only a few more seconds, that's right around the same time the wife and the kids start asking me to slow down any way so no big deal. :D
