Our race boat has a liquid-filled Rex Marine Speedometer in it. While doing some work under the dash stupid me unscrewed the bezel thinking this is how it is removed. Well, all the liquid leaked out in a big hurry!:frown: What is this liquid? It feels like a low viscosity oil of some kind...
Thanks,

Glycerine, you can get it at any drug store.

Don't fill 'em all the way though, leave the fluid room to expand when it heats up in the sun.:D

Correct it is glyceryn. It's water soluable too for clean up as the stuff makes a sticky mess otherwise.
If you can't find any locally we can send you some, just pm me. And yes to leave a little air space. Also make sure that oring on the lens is seated properly or it'll leak like crazy.

Do not feel bad, I made the same stupid mistake myself.
Said to hell with this, mine kept giving me problems, so after cleaning up the mess I put a GPS speedo in it.
