I dont know if you've been reading my posts lately but my wife and I were just about to ink a deal with magic yesterday and decided we better sleep on it one more day and thank god we did. Not to say that we would have had a bad experiance with magic but when so many people have had problems with the quality and customer service issue's and the company doesn't even have the b*@@$ to set the record straight, that tells me what kind of character they have AND I DON'T LIKE IT!!!!!!!!! I'm sure you'll be happy to Know that we have a deal in the works with Eliminator on a 28'Daytona! We'll be meeting with them on sunday :D :D :D :D :D :D Thanks to everyone that gave us their input on all the nice boats out there!!! See ya at havasu (red and white tribal flamed 28' daytona and yes I'll post pictures!!!! wink

This would make as nice set up 28LP with twin 496ho with xr drives, 100mph and reliable engines. cost should be about 110k.

The specs will be detrimined on sunday at the shop! We were thinking of doing the merc 525(500horsepower) or going with a custom set up like a 509 merlin (575 horsepower)! We are on some type of budget!!! It will have crawl through mid cabin leading to the open bow!

No, but I just wanted to be the first one to make the checkers comment for a change around here and last night with 8 people on seemed like the perfect opportunity. :D

Rivernutts,
You should delete your thread and send it to Jr in a PM. This will give magic documented proof that they lost business in a slander suit. And that's the hardest thing to prove.
HDD

First of all, if there is an acutal lawsuit brewing out of all of these horror stories, it wouldn't be a slander case as slander is spoken. The lawsuit would be based upon libel which is the written counterpart.
Aside from that, generally to be proven libel, the accusations have to be unfounded, which is how the tabloids get sued when they print made up stories about celebrities.
As long as JR has documentation of what he went through, even if it is a personal journal that he wrote down the daily interactions with the builder, he should come out alright if they try and go after him. In reality, he should be going after them from the sounds of it.
The first thing I'd do is file a restraining order against that sales tough guy. Then if anything happens in Havasu or anywhere else, his bases are covered. If that guy attacks him, it looks really bad if he's violating an order of protection or restraining order while doing it.
Just my $.02

Rivernutts, good choice on the Eliminator...that 28 is a nice rig...Go with the Merlin setup or Whipple the 525...that thing needs at least 575+ power...

I'll bet it'd be closer to 175 grand! Builder price on those HO/XR packages should be around $20k for each engine/drive combo, right? That leaves $135k for 28' of fiberglass and a trailer? Wow, inflation is rough these days! wink

I really like the Eliminators but the pricing seems to be all over the map depending on who you talk to. It's almost like you have to go down there and hammer out the deal just to get a reasonably close price quote. If I lived closer I would have done exactly that, but the $95k quote on the phone for a 28LP/496Mag scared me off!

That's true, but I can't ever recall seeing an eliminator that had a "saw" taken to it to make a hatch fit. :D
