The week leading up to FC was a bitch and there were many times I was doubting that the boat would be ready. I busted my ass and only left 3 hours behind schedule on Thursday night. I should say thank you to my girlfriend for dealing with me and my bitchiness for the week leading up to this trip. Things got really bad about 5pm on Thurs trying to make my planned 7pm departure and I had to take a step back and realize vacation is supposed to be relaxing. So why was I throwing shit across the garage?????? I used to wonder as a kid why my dad would be so pissed getting ready to go on trips, now I know. When it was all done, we pulled out of Santa Clarita at 10pm. My new goal was to make it to the Trump 29 Casino off the 10, sleep some then head in first thing in the morning. Pulled in around 1:30am and got some much needed rest.

We pulled in to Big River around 10:30 and were immediately greeted by Bigamist and WSUWRHR. Got camp set up and Brian offered to launch my boat with his van since I had the Camper. This was my first time to Big River and everybody was great in answering all my questions about the area and what I should expect. HBJet offered to show me the river and where I needed to watch for rock bars, he knows where everyone of them are!!:D So we headed out and it was the perfect way to start the trip.

Randy giving me the signal to fall behind him to show the route inbetween the island and the rock bar.

I don't know how Randy doesn't run out of fuel, his foot was burried the entire weekend.

There were some really nice boats on hand. DNE was well represented and let me tell you, they build some nice powerplants. I think there were 6 or 7 DNE boats and all of them were runnin hard. Gina (my girlfriend) rolled her eyes at me because she knows whats going in the boat after I'm done with the current powerplant.:D I didn't get pics of everyones boat bit here are a few.

This is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I was walking through camp Saturday morning with BigPropa and we stumbled across WrightNow's boat sporting some early morning wood. With his new motor, it's understandable why the boat has such a big hard on.

Saturday started out great, most everybody met up at the beach by the campground
and then headed up river to the cove.

CS19 put his boat in the water for the first time and it ran great. I had to tow him but that was only because he's not running an alternator and the battery died. Great looking boat Chris, and thanks for your help with my pump.:D

There was a lot of racing going on but I didn't get any if it on film. This guy tried to run HBjet but I think Randy took him on the big end.

I have to say thanks to everybody for your hospitality and generosity. Thanks to Roostwear for putting on such a great event, Wsuwrhr for the great Hitch cover(Farthest Tow Award) and helping launch my boat. BigPropa for the 99Banannas, Gina is hooked. On the ride home she was telling me that we had to get some. Thanks to Candy and Jessa for hanging with my girl while I was drinkin and talkin shop, you girls kick ass!!!!! I have to throw out an extra special thanks to HBJet for showing me the river and letting me use his truck to launch and get fuel for my boat. I enjoyed meeting everybody and cant wait to hang with all of you again soon. If I forgot somebody, it's nothing personal, meeting everybody can be a bit overwhelming. Last but not least I have to again thank Jack and Chris from MPD for my favorite pic of the weekend. Thanks for your great work guys!!!

Hey whats up Bro, it was good hangin with you and your other half. I absolutely loved Big River. I'm going to be in Parker for Memorial and am going to try to get down there at least one day to hang with HBJet, Cyclone and whoever else will be there. It all depends on what the rest of my crew wants to do though. Otherwise, after that I'm down to go out there whenever. If you guys are planning on being there, let me know at least a few days in advance and Ill try to make it.

Hell yeah, Me ,my two brothers, and a buddy are going to be there for Memorial Weekend. Let Randy or Mike know if you and Gina come down to Big River. We have plenty of trucks to put your boat in the water. One thing we have to do that we didn't is go to the bar up the hill. It is called the Catfish. You guys would have a blast.

Squirtcha?
05-17-2004, 06:23 PM
The other guy with the Nordic didn't seem too bad. This character was about a non-driver though. Hack and I were racing and this guy flips a turn right in front of Hack without even looking to see if anybody was coming up behind him. Shit happens fast enough at 90 mph without people flipping turns in front of ya.

Gina isn't coming and I'm staying in a house in Parker so I'll have my truck, no camper. We are definitely going to run down to lost lake to watch some races so we'll hook up.

It's too bad, his boat was clean, his girl was cute but he was doing doughnuts all over the river. Sunday before we left we were runnin up by the dam to hook up with Cyclone and the Twins. I was runnin wideopen and the guy with the aluminum boat with the big autometer tack and canopy(don't know ianybody spotted it, but it was funny) turned in front of me and I had to dodge him.

I don't own one of those AR VEES Clark! I have to stay in the motel, unless I drive from the BHC place.
I've been staring at the Summit catalog today, and I'll be calling Jack tomorrow about my MPH deficiency. It may just take getting that Hondo to break 65. Hehehehehehe
Now, where to KEEP it.........

I wish I could have gone. I was still assembling, Disassembling, Clearancing , and re-assembling and just couldn't make it. It is Petrofieds fault. If I didn't buy into the blower idea I would have made easter but I don't learn and selling off my new blower carbs and plenum for injection is what kept me from the FC event. I will make next years for sure.. Probably.
