I know this was talked about a while ago, but I wanted to see what everyone thought about last nights Monster Garage Monster Nation 4 with the WaterCar. If I remember right everyone thought it was all fake, but the show looked real to me. Here is the link to the WaterCar so everyone can see what I am talking about.

Well, considering it was at the LA Boat show and was out for everyone to see it looked real to me.

I saw that thing at the Islander last year. He was fine until he exited the protected bay and entered the lake on a Saturday. That thing was taking rollers over the nose, he had to turn around and duck back into the calm water before it sank! I also saw him driving it on the asphalt.....it's for real useless.

Hot Boat did an article about that boat/car a few months ago. What was cool about it compared to other car/boats was that the thing hauled ass in the water, about 50 mph I think. Pretty cool.

We also saw that at the Islander last year. I saw it drive by on a trailer and did a double take. Couldn't figure out what it was. Saw it cruise through the channel once last summer also. Don't know if i'd want to ride in it unless it was a perfectly glassy day..I'd be afraid to sink!

Well, I doubt it cost the guy to build it this much, but here is the response I got from the company...
Hello Cole and thanks for your continued interest. We also thought the
video last night was pretty good but it certainly did not represent the 10
hours we spent with the production crew filming it. A lot of good video got
left on the cutting room floor. Since the Hot Boat layout we have been in
Popular Mechanics, Forbes, Speed Channel (Car Crazy), NBC (Today Show), Good
Morning America, etc. The vehicle really does work quite well.
The model you have seen sells for $150,000. We are developing a second
model based upon a very popular sport utility vehicle which we will offer in
kit form. When assembled by an authorized completion facility the vehicle
will sell for approximately $100,000. Significant savings can be realized
by doing the assembly yourself.
A little too steep for me.

I would say that my car I have now is usless because I can't go in the water. My boat would also be usless because it doesn't drive me to work. My glass is half full. Usless is pretty strong, not perfect is what I would call it. It's a good start though, atleast he is trying.

Nicest thing about it is the polished jet below the bumper:D
