View Full Version : Cavitation Plate ???????

Can someone please advise me on what type of stuff to use between the plate and the boat. Is it just silicone???

Silicone is all we have used in the past and have had zero problems with it. Alum plates or SS it doesnt matter.

we have used silicon many many times and never once have we had a problem with it.

The stuff that is on it now looks like Black rubber. I don't think they had silicone in 1973....

I use Permatex 2 form-a-gasket, it's black that may be what it is but silicone will work!..

Marine Grade or Aquarium Grade silicone has worked the best for me the last 18 years

Marine Tex (epoxy) oil and fuel proof. A 'good' 2 blade will work silicone right out of it's place. I bed everything down with it, no problems.
