View Full Version : Nautical Inn, Whats your opinion?

No Drama

We have made reservation at the Nautical Inn, for the 4th of July weekend. Whats your opinion on staying at this place. Info: We will be 4 adults and a teen boy with hormones raging, if that makes a differance. We will be bringing a boat, so launch, slip, and truck/trailer parking is important. Your input makes a differance. Thanks guys and gals, in advance.

I have never stayed there but have reservations for OP6C. We have a beach suite, and that is cool, because you can walk right from your room, down to your boat.(and you have a patio)
They have their own launch ramp and you can leave your boat in the water overnight (big plus)
Downside:
During the poker run, some folks had stuff stolen from their boats. I called the hotel and they said that they have a security guard that patrols......(?)Also the suites are very expensive, but I have heard that the beach suites are brand new.
That is all the info I have, I am sure if you bump this thread when everyone gets back from the weekend you should get lots of advice....

Only stayed there once, Had a beach suite and it was fine. No hassles at all. Beach can get crowded, I chose to pull my boat out each might just to safe.
I give it two thumbs up.

Positives:
You dont have to pull your boat out of the water every day. The store is pretty cool and the bar makes the best Bucket O' Mai Tai. Restaurant isnt bad for breakfast. If they ever open that Naked Turtle bar, it will be cool.
Negatives:
Their prices sky rocket in the spring and summer. It takes me 1 to 3 minutes to check in at most hotels I stay at. Those clerks at the Nautical are freakin retards. Last weekend we stayed there. They called up a week before to see if we will take a 90 minute tour of the first cabin club(Timeshares). In return, we get a night for free. When we go to check out, I show them the card they gave me to show when I check out. One moron asks the other "What do these do." "Nothing" they other tard says. I have to explain to them what the card meant. I have stayed there 5 times this year and 4 of those times it has taken me 20 to 40 minutes to check in. Checking out can suck too. Each time its an ordeal.
One of those occassions I made a reservation for a buddy. When he checked in he gave them his credit card. The tards charged me for his room too. It took a 30 minute phone call to explain everything.
I do realize that these are my experiences but there has to be someone out there who knows what Im talking about.

I can echo everyone of your comments about checking in and checking out at the Nautical (except the timeshare thing). The behind-the-desk help must be hired based on how low their IQ is - they make reeetards look brilliant. Expect a lengthy check-in and out.

I love the beach suites at the Natical, a little expensive, but no hassles once your're in. So far this year we have been there 3 times. It is worth the extra coin. We have tried alot of places and nothing I have been to is better. IMHO

it's been a few years, but last time i stayed there was a disaster. the room was one of the worst ive ever stayed in. toilet didnt work, cockroaches everywere, and just run down as can be. but what the heck, we were there to boat and have fun, not stay in a hotel room. so when i try and beach my lttle 18' jet boat in the cove i was treated like a leper. everyone had huge boats and for some reason they all thought they needed 30' of space on each side. had to move a couple times just to keep from confrontation with the other boat owners. again, oh well, i went boating. well that day the wind kicked up big time and i barely made it back. (saw 3 boats sink). i had to follow a huge boat that was going real slow so it broke the swells and wind chop for me. a buddy had a bigger boat so i decided for the next day to keep mine on the trailer and ride in his. in front of our room there was parking for about 150' but there was a big empty boat trailer parked right in the center. (no truck) i pulled my truck and boat behind his trailer and had just enough room but it was close, so my friend and i pushed this guys trailer up a foot or two so he can get around it. we went out for the evening then went to bed. when i get up the next morning to get an extra life vest from my boat so i can ride in my buddies, i noticed someone took a hammer to my trucks windshield. damn, big bummer. talked to the nautical inn people (when i was able to find someone) and they tell me "so what" not their responsibility. i tried to tell them a glof ball from THIER golf course hit the windshield just to see what they would say and they said its the responsiblity of the golfer that hit the ball. i was screwed. i felt like driving my truck all over thier golf coarse tearing up the greens, but i just couldnt stoop to that level. i knew the area was going to be a bit crazy since the party places are all right there (bars/clubs) but figured i had the inn for salvation. i just didnt belong there. i stick to the river now and am much better off. i hope your trip turns out better than mine. good luck.

What year were you there with the cockroaches? I heard they had redone all the rooms..........:(

There are older rooms and newer ones. A whole new wing along hte beach at the West end. We stayed in one a month or so ago. It had two rooms, one with a couch, two tv's, a microwave and a little fridge. Clean and nice. Over a $100 per night, though. Not cheap.
You can keep your boat on the beach, but tie it off well, and who knows what knucklehead might run into it. I take mine out too. Put away anything worth stealing.

it was about 7 years ago. BTW, if your trying to keep your teen son from getting into "trouble", i would keep and close eye on him in that area. its a huge party place and lots of T&A running around. ive even seen some that were still wearing thier bathing suits. :p

we stay there 6 times a year or so.. I have had no problems other than taking forever to check in and out.. but with all the steeling there latley you might want to take the boat out and /or take the valuables out.. we usually leave ours in the water over night and so far no problems.. ;)

ok, after seeing those pics i can definatly say they have re-done the place. when i was there it didnt look anything like that. and that cove didnt have any of the type of boats i see in the pic. all were atleast 28' minimum. i guess they figured i was just some punk that had no buisness there. it sure looks nice now.

I have heard that too. I stayed there in a beach suite back in October during the IJSBA finals there. It was a nice time, but not very crowded that weekend. I have no idea how it would be on "big" weekends. There have been story after story about the confrontations over the beach parking and subwoofers, stereo amps, life jackets and coolers getting stolen from boats anchored at night.
I think their guard is probably a cousin of Barney Fife... one bullet in the pocket...

 Me and the wifey and our daughter have stayed at the nauti many times ...The Beach Suite's are the best but the most expensive room ..The Bay rooms are OLD! and are not that nice but the cove is right out of your room so you can keep an eye on your boat the best choice is the Parlor Suite they are just like the Beach Suite but older and and cheaper but still a great choice because of the Cove in front of your room but pick a bottom unit we loved it ...Yes it's true that the check inn is a pain in the ass but they will take care of you ..they say they have a piece of crap computer system that makes checking in or out a pain in the ass but still The Nauti is the best place to stay in Havasu
