And who would that be???..
A very known "former" jet boat owner.
:)
I found this hull in a metal scrape yard, unrigged with no holes in the dash. I was picking up a D9 block at the time. I was shocked to see this circle boat, we could not figure out what it was. But after a little more searching, he found out and went back to get it. It has a nice bolsa floor, but a little delam on the stringers. I can say this boat is LIGHT.

yes. At first I was settled on it being a Barron. Jerry ran the HIN number and it did not come up as a Barron. After looking at SSMikes pic, he came to the conclusion it was a Riviera. Cool looking boat, sucks it was so neglected, you just never know where you are going to find a gold mine.

geeeezzzz you cant keep your mouth closed about anything hu?
well we striped a little of the paint to find some good looking Gel under it .. they burned through is some of the corners but it may be fixable.. now i just have to decide what boat to keep after all i pick up the old SK-51 this weekend.. I'm still not totally 100% sure that its a Rivera the hin is RCQ but it has 4 strakes total I'm not that familiar with the Rivera to know it they have 4 or not. by taking it off the trailer we guess its around 450 -500 lbs there is no delam on the stringers just some cracks in the glass were i can pull it up and make it delam, it is repairable no problem with out allot of work. there is however delam on the side gunnel supports . i don't see that as a problem as they are set to far in for my taste so i will rip them out and make new ones and put them further out were they should be.

DILLIGAF, its all good.
Shawn,
The gel does look sweet, I like that black and orange. Do you have any pics of the deck and transom? I know a bunch of people would chime in for that.
:)
I really think it is a Barron...still.

According to the USCG MIC Databas, RCQ is indeed a Riviera. Laid up right in your backyard, Shawn. But how do you find an unrigged one? Wow. And I'm curious what is the year of that hull?
Cool, congratulations.

Don found it and called me i just convinced the guy it was junk and basicly stole it ... its an 84 or 85 i cant rember off hand.. i know that RCQ is Riveria but it has the four strakes like a Barron thats what puzzles me also the transom and deck are diffent from a barron mine has a ridge in the center of the deck were i dont see it on the barrons. it is unrigged minus a few shit parts the guy put in like the skag and the strut no other holes in it at all..

The best part is nothing in the dash, I dig that.
The best thing about B boats is that fiberglass center, which you can go to town on.

Who's boat is that? That IS your boat.
Now for the decision huh?
Keep the B and the Riviera?
Have your brother put one together?
Not a bad situation to be in.
From what I was reading, Barrons and Rivieras accelerate hard in the straights, but do not handle the turns as well as a Biesmeyer.
I am sure some of the old skoolers will hop in. :)

Hey Don, where's this raised cap rail you said the boat had??????
These boats were originally designed by Rusty B for Julian P. Julian didn't like it (crashed it) and returned the molds to Rusty. Rusty sold them to Al Burns and whallah,,,,the Riviera was born.
Its should have a higher deck seam than a Barron sprint.

Ok, your right on the seats :)
Next thing that stands out to me are the trailer wheels. They aren't bad, they just seem like they would be more at home carrying a mid 60's flatty.
Last are the pipes. I'm just used to seeing circle boats with the low profile headers that enable ez valve lash adjustment without pulling the headers off.
http://www.v-drivevideo.com/jerrysgallery/albums/userpics/10001/normal_Header%20pics.jpg
This is a B boat with traditional style headers....
http://www.v-drivevideo.com/jerrysgallery/albums/userpics/10001/Header%20pics%20004.jpg
And this is with the high horsepower leach headers...
http://www.v-drivevideo.com/jerrysgallery/albums/userpics/10001/Header%20pics%20005.jpg
of course you can allways go for the jet boat pipes that some people seem to like...

OK anyone want it other wise the price will go up dramatical when I'm done doing what I'm gana do to it....
i started ripping out the gunnel supports tonight bulk head is next then its on to glassing in new bulkhead and gunnel supports fill all the holes that were drilled in the bottom for the little rigging that was done to it finishing it off with refinishing the floor .flow coat and some nice black water based house paint down the center and on the stringers..
so $800 it is right now as is or alot more when I'm done ..
ill post pics tomorrow night
