Brewski, do you have a Scorpion or the base 377? I'd be interested to find out about this also and how much the small block can handle.

Chestah Cheetah. Im thinging about ordering
a 28ft.with the standard 6.2MPI then putting
on whipple. Dustin at whipple says 500HP and
562# torgue. Have 232 now with 454 imco exh.
850 holly, and EMI breather. Can't decide on
6.2 or 496HO. Thanks for reply C.C.

I'm no expert but I if you have a choice definetely go for the 496HO. A small block in that size and weight of a boat will be slug out of the hole, but not so much with the Whipple. The 496HO is a much better starting point IMO. I was surprised to learn that the Ultra 247 with the Scorpion ran 74MPH, but that is a smaller boat (step bottom). What kind of boat?

Wag, Did you install the whipple? Sounds like a fast boat, whats your speed and RPM
with your setup.Was that a standard 1.65
gear ratio or 1.50? How much boost are you running?

No whipple installed the blower and gearing
is standerd bravo one. right now it has
24/4 prop.befor the headers it would run up to 5200 rpm 76mph. I won't know how much it's
improved until i get it back from whipple.
owe is't a sterling.
