Shop who has built 2 engines for me and a few for other friends recommends Lunati or Scat without dumping big $$$$ :) Doesn't like Eagle stuff. Say's it's made in China, personally don't know though

Scat is made in China also. Machined in the USA
There are several Chinese forgings machined in the USA that are decent. I have never had a problem with reliability or durability.
A Callies Dragon Slayer (cleverly named) is 100% USA and priced to compete with the Chinese stuff.

Eagle in mine has held up so far with a lot of boost.

I run a LAE billet now but I had a Callies in my last lake boat with a 498" BBC with a 350hp nitrous set up. It was bullet proof despite numerous motor rebuilds due to detonation causing ring land failures on the pistons. I agree with Info. in that for the price, Callies is hard to beat. Good luck with your decision.

no cracks?---must be a tough piece to pull a 14/71 with a big cog belt and no crank support!!!-----I'm impressed

I'm running a Callie's Dragonslayer. I think it's a great crank for the money.
You can order direct from Callie's(419-435-2711). I dealt with Don there, and he set me up a with a tough "rotating assembly" at a competitive price.
