I'm replacing the tires on my tandem boat trailer. It has bias ply trailer tires, and the trailer tows "heavy". I'm thinking of going to radials. My old single axle towed great with radials, but I'm probably comparing apples to oranges. The tandem hauls a 18" Advantage, so the load isn't that much, I just hate the way this trailer feels when i tow.
Thoughts, experiences?

I tow various heavy trailers and so far my experiences are Greenball Towmasters work pretty good.
if you buy them at Americas,, they give a pretty decent warranty. For a few bucks more you can get a better warranty.
Make sure whatever brand you buy that you inflate them to the correct pressure, usually 50psi, and keep them at that pressure.
Underinflate and they will heat up and disentigrate.

Have had BFG Radial TA's on my trailer (19' Elim. Daytona) for probably 10 years. No problems yet, then again, the boat is very light weight.

In my experience the radials last longer and have a more consistant wear pattern. My bias ply tires always would wear unevenly. I had good luck with Maxis trailer tires. Avoid the Carliles like the plague.

I run 225/60R15 Toyo Proxes TPT tires on my trailer mounted on 15x7-inch Weld wheels. These tires have been great and they are radials!
