I wouldn't pay $21,900.00 for one for sure! Here is a good link to it http://www.azspeed-marine.com/sise600ho535.html

The last Jegs catalog I received they had an all aluminum fuel injected 502 for 21k
also the ZZ 572 in either 620hp@5500rpm or a 720hp@6250rpm . priced at 13k and 14k and all are pump gas friendly so theres a couple of other options in that price range for ya .
as for me , I'll have to keep on dreaming and add a few more performance product stickers to my ride they're good for an extra 10 HP each or so I hear .:D
C.T.

Thanks but I am trying to stay with an AZ company so if I have any probs I can show up on the doorstep. I'm not going through the same crap that I did with Mercury again.

Kenny, another thought would be to talk to Larry in Tucson. He has a lot of happy customers here in AZ and elsewhere. 520-623-5373.

I was looking at the add on manifolds from ASM for the 496 HO. They claim 100 HP + gains and even better torque gains. Also wondering if anyone has any experiences with the manifold?

You know what, Phil Jr recommended him too, does he have a website? I am kinda stuck on that 600 though it seems pretty sweet, they have 2 that are almost complete and I am probably gonna go see one of them on the dyno.
Thanks for the input.

Yeah they have the add ons but at this point I am extremely skeptical about the ability to take any mods at all, I was running at 5100rpm when mine gave way and it was only 48 hrs old. completely stock as well.

Look here (www.larrysengine.com)!
Not a great websight, but it will give some idea of what they build as "standard" packages. Everything there is as custom as you want it to be. All the machine and assembly work is done in-house so quality control is great. Some seriously speedy setups come out of that shop, just ask Skater40, aka "Predator"!
Good luck with whatever you decide on!

Kachina Ken:
I am not sure what actually let go in your stock 496, but lots of motors in boats let go when something isn't right. In any event sorry to hear about your loss. We have been thrashing our two 496 dyno "mules" all the month of May with our new aluminum heads and manifold and we tore them down Friday and we showed no measurable wear and we had no breakages and this was after about 62 hard 5100RPM dyno pulls. These runs were all made on factory parts on blocks we machined and assembled ourselves. If you need a good engine builder in your area or already have one, have them contact us about our new forged pistons, rods and cranks for your motor as well as our aluminum heads, cams and intake manifold. A 600HP reliable 496 is now a genuine reality!

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the input and I'm sure you will sell a ton of them but I am sticking with an AZ builder for service reasons. BTW welcome to the board!
