nitro nationals, who won?

just wondering if anyone knew who won the nitro nationals, or where i can find out. since the ihba will update their website sometime next year... i went on saturday so i never found out the outcome

koontz or something like that matched et record at 4.900 and was suppose to back it up later in the day,but we left at 5 oclock.joe shelfo redlit in final in 8.0 class.yellow/white southwind tunnel jet won in my class (ME).i treed lipinsky in second round,but he nipped me at finish by .0005:rolleyes: had a blast for my first time racing the whacker:cool:

i wish the ihba would do something about their website. it's horrible. it would be nice to find out race results and a recap within at least a day, hell it would be nice within a week... when an nhra race is finished you can go on to the website and less than 5 minutes later there is the results and point standings and a little recap...
i believe that southwind you're talking about is bob prigmore's ("bp" on the boards)...

thanks robert, what a weekend. 22 boat field in ME; 5 elim rounds through some real tough competition. stoker2001, you did a great job up there.. keep workin' it. i had the opportunity to face mr. lapinski in the semi, and it was a good close race, but we had the little sw dialed pretty well for this one. it was a great win against some great competition...

Go to Dragboats.com and you will find the results there. It was a great time. REd Bluff is THE BEST. Unfortunelty our boat (Aqualung 007 PM) went out in the 2nd round of the finals:( Jerry Kutz in Plumb Crazy took the win over Madness. It was awesome. Jerry and his crew have worked so very hard and its about time that he took a win. Congrats to Jerry and his crew:D

Sunday first qualifier finish was SS-91 Dave Bryant, SS-80 Dennis Rankin, SS-68 Jeff Brochheuser, SS-32 Scott Nish and SS-10 Drexel Brandenberg. Second qualifier finish was SS-70 Ty Newton, SS-7 Tim Hoffman, SS-801 Kenny Wells and SS-711 Skip Tuttle. SS-70, 80 and 91 went to the A main and the rest to the last chance. Jeff Brochheuser blew away all the other boats and gathered up first place followed by SS-32. Kenny Wells and Tim Hoffman battled for the whole 4 laps for third and fourth. SS-801 took third by less than a boat length with SS-10 in fifth and SS-711 ended in sixth. The A main final was ran about 5 pm. Filling the in lane order was SS-801, SS-68, SS-91, SS-70, SS-80 and SS-32. SS-91 lead the full 4 laps with SS-70 close behind. Final results were SS-91 taking the checked flag, SS-70 was 2nd, SS-80 3rd, SS-32 4th, SS-801 5th and SS-68 was 6th. Topping out the weekend was SS-91 first, SS-70 second and SS-80 and SS-32 tied for third. Quite a few of us stayed around for the trophy presentation and there was some rumors in the pits that SUPER STOCK BOATS RULE!!!!

Friday in Red Bluff started out wet but before it was time for the show and shine everything had dried out. The people there are great. They blocked off two blocks down town and lined them with the boats. Everyone came to see the boats and talk to the all "boat people". Plenty of fun was had by all with good food and drink.
Saturday in the first qualifying heat started out with SS-70 taking a big hop to the left and hit into SS-501, it was later found that the hop was do to a mechanical problem. Both boat received some damage but because of the expert driving skills of Gus in 501 prevented injuries to both drivers. SS-70 was able to repair the damage with duck tape but 501 was not so lucky, no amount of duck tape could fix it, they were out for the weekend. The team had to leave early to go home and make repairs so they can make it to Laughlin this coming weekend. The race continued and SS-711 dropped out do to motor problems but figured them out and was ready to race on Sunday. There were a couple of spinouts but they recovered and the heat was finished with SS-91 taking first, SS-10 second and SS-501 third. Since 501 could not race SS-70 moved to the main in his place. With SS-80 and 711 going to the B main. The second heat got off to a fast start with SS-32 taking the lead and staying there to the end. Not to many problems in this heat with SS-32 and 68 going to the A main. After winning the B main SS-80 moved into the A Main. It was a great race to the end with SS-70 taking the win but after the points for the day was totaled SS-91 was the number 1 boat for the day, with SS-70 and 80 tying for second and SS-10 was fourth.
