I saw your Whipple install in another thread, looks great. Now for some questions.First off,any driveability issues and how does it perform?I'm having my outdrive worked on right now and going with the 1:25 ratio. What rpm were you pulling the 30p to? Thanks in advance for any information you can provide,Mike.

Jackpunx-
Hey man, I saw your boat in Havasu numerous times but never got to talk to you. I took some nice pics of it at the sandbar on Friday, yet when I walked over there, no one was around. It looked great, and when you took off at the sandbar and headed north, it was amazing. Fastest acceleration I have ever seen, punch it and you were gone. It looked sweet. Congrats on the ride and look forward to seeing you next time out.
Take care,
Roln 20s

I got to take a ride in this thing on sat. afternoon, all i can say is that is very, very quick we didn't have smooth enough water for a top speed run but judging by the set up and the ride I took I'd say it is also got a pretty stout top speed.

roln 20s and boat030-THATS what I needed to hear!I had been going back and forth between an 871 blower shop but have now settled on the 3.3 Whipple.I like the looks of an 871 w/dual carbs. but would have had hatch and other issues with the upper pulley being too high and too far forward(with the intercooler).Didn't want to rip someones hair out! Waiting to get some solid numbers from Jackpunx to help with my setup.

Not sure about that one.. I shut down about 5500 and it was ready to pull more.. Couldnt tell you how fast the top end is but I hit 100 around 4700-4800.. there was a guy in a cat that I was running with.. I had 4 people in the boat 45 gal of fuel.. He said I walked away from him when he hit 107... PM me for my number if you have any questions.. I love the mods..

JP,
That is awesome, I knew that thing was going to run hard. Good luck with it. I hope to see you out there in 04 with the "new" Howard Bullet.
Also: It looks like your going to have to upgrade that speedometer! :D

Thanks GT for your help on this.. I am so glad I did it.. at least right now I am.. its still running.. I look forward to seeing your new project in 04..
I’m thinking of getting a hand held GPS .. so that I can take it on other boats as a Bullsh$t detector..

LMAO, Its surprising how many boats "arent running as good as usual" when you call them out on their speed. Actual speed is always hard to "not exaggerate" a little. I remember only wanting to beat 106 mph. When I ran 111 I was in shock, but only minutes later I was comparing the handheld to the dash GPS and wondering if the Handheld was off, and maybe we were running 112, because if I looked down on the GPS guage it looked closer to 112 mph, LOL. What an idiot, I was already trying to stretch it a MPH. Oh well, I guess Im human.

GT,
LOL.. yea.. I thought I was going to be happy at 100mph.. Im with ya.. I love the "it must be the altitude" or "the conditions must not be right today" or the old famous. ."I’ve lost a couple of RPM's.. Has anyone seen them?".. Ive used them all.. And if I come up with anymore.. I will be sure to share.
SS24,
I only have a stoker.. but friends of ours have the 30' HTM.. and also a very fast 24' .. They work on them at my girls work up on foothill.. “Gilmore heating and air”.. You have probably seen them there..
For sure lets hook up .. I think i PMed you my #.. give me a call.. I think Im going to the ski races with Three Day's only on his 36' Spectre.. on sat.

Gotcha, So you know John then. I met John about seven years ago and thats who turned me on to Steve up at HTM. John sent me up there to check out Steve's SR's and after that Ive had Steve build me two HTM's. You will have to PM me again cause I dont think I received your message. Thanks

I PMed you my # .. Let me know if you didn’t get it

Hp350,
You will also need to install external steering with the blower upgrade.

racer- Yes I will have to,I need to wait until funds are available for the steering, carb. and other items. It's cold up here in Oregon already,so there's all winter to get this project done. Hope this Whipple is all it's cracked up to be. Local boat shop wanted to sell me a vortech s/charger setup for a LOT less money, but I have learned from previous buildups to go all out otherwise you end up buying things 2 or 3 times.
