This kind of class is what I respect about outboard guys. They don't feel the need to make a big deal of it when they win.

The quiet was on lost lake during your pass.
The king of the jungle doesn't budge for a couple of flys.
BTW, what was the ratio of outboards to big blocks that attended the last party?

What a fine list of trailer queens.
I'm sure they all do a fine job on the lakes and rivers.
It seems I see those type of boat everywhere, mostly on the trailer but hey, they sure look tough and what fine trailers, fit for a king.

Another quality post Uncle T. The proof is right there on paper. The Trailer queens win again. And going away of course. Dont hate the players You Te, hate the game. I will pay for your entry fee into any race you would like to enter. There is always room for you in the 10 second class as it is an all run field. Come on in the water is warm.:D :D

Well Tony,
KK can get into the 9's without the bottle he knows what he must do.
My hull is lighter than KK's and runs almost twice the horse power, (on the bottle) gee I wonder if I would be quicker than the 9's.:D :D :D :D :D :D
Thanks for the invite Tony, maybe someday.

Tony,
5 sec, no way, not with outboards. You could not pay me enough to get behind the wheel of a 5 sec boat.
No fathers day for me this year.

King Kong is no trailer queen. That boat used to frequent Apache Lake 20+ years ago on the big weekends. Spent years doing it. Before Lance had it, John Culver did and used it at the lake also. Pulled many skiers in rough water too.

The only reason these 3 wackers weren't all dead last, was because the Big Block guys haven't harnessed the full potential of thier combinations. A healthy small block can spank your strappers.
The Nitro Hemi's of drag car racing are making upwards of 7000 horsepower!!!!!!:eek!: And that's with strict rules in place. Imagine what they could do with no CI, blower or fuel limits (to mention a few). These guys aren't even allowed E.F.I.!
When I try and imagine the most power anyone could ever pull (literally) from a wacker, I die laughing.
Make me a drink.

Are all big block guys as full of excuses as Roman 1?
Hey Roman... I'll bet it's killing you that some pretty serious hardware got beat. I think you're right about their setups. If they install K&N Filter Chargers and maybe even Tornado fuel savers, they will return to rule the day.

Killing me? Not hardly! Its thier choice to run those motors well below thier potential.
Just because a couple of wackers can outrun "1 or 2" of our slower big blocks (because they haven't been leaned on), that does not give supremecy to the clamp ons.
From the races to the river big blocks still rule the day.

I'll tell you what, (this goes out to any of you...Tom, Te, Hippy)why don't you post a pic or video of what you consider is the ultimate wacker (I will expect the pic or vid to be self selling). I in return will post a response in the same format.

Yeah I bet you are laughing your ass off. I think it is probably the reason that you guys run outboards. You have an excuse why you get beat over and over and over. 1 guy went 1 round. All the others got rolled in the first round by a Big block. How do you explain it?
I cruise my boat all day. It is a great river boat. I can hold as many peeps in it as you can Uncle Tony. It is 509 ci and it pushes a boat that weighs 1900lbs fully rigged with me in the boat. Countless times you have been called out and not once have you answered the call. My offer still stands to pay your entry fee to an NJBA event.

Roman 1,
I'm not sure I have enough tapes to video a wacker at work, you see once they hit the water they actually do what we call boating.
Just say it Roman 1 the really fast big blocks are TRAILER QUEENS you know it and so does everyone else. Come on now lets see your big bad big block that runs the lake all day and beats the outboards in a drag race.
You can do it, stop dancing around the photo.
Come on Guru you know better than that. The big blocks that run the Havasu waters then up the river and back, what ET bracket do they run.
Yes Guru, You have a great river boat as long as the trailer is not to far away. Sure you can cruise all day whatever you say.
You have been called out for BBSP what happened? Let's go boating Guru, we can launch at Havasu cruise up to Topock get some lunch then up river to the Avi, play a little black jack then back to speed alley, do some drag racing and then back to Havasu.
Ask your trailer if it's ok.:D :D :D :D

Look Lil' Ceaser, the NHRA rules (as well as F-1 Nascar CART IRL etc) are in place to hold costs down so as to keep the underfunded teams in the game and make it a level playing field. This includes ALL of the boating commuity. If you don't believe me walk through an IHBA or a NJBA pit and drop a $20 and watch the fur fly.
Also, in the early 90's a fuel motor was marketed as a 3500hp monster!
It had a 1471 blower, 92%in the tank, dual mags, dual pumps, dual plugs, fuel injection, most ran a 500ci KB and killed it at the end of the pass.
Todays monster's run a 1471 blower, 92% in the tank, dual mags............kill it at the end of the pass. HOWEVER now it makes 7000hp.
Don't you just love marketing!
The main reason for todays lower et's and higher mph is due to the advancement in clutch tech. over the last 10 to 15yrs.
Guru, I'm watching! 1900lbs and all day boating?
PS, I saw a boat with "suck my wake" painted on the transom a few weekends ago headed to the Blyth area, was that you? Nice boat!:)

Uncle Tony,
Me being called out to the BBSP is like the JV squad having a scrimmage. The Varsity team had a race that weekend so we were unable to make it. We were in Needles the following week for the whole week, not just a couple of days and not an outboard to be seen. I guess the JV had another soph-frosh scrimmage. When you are ready to play with the big boys, come out and give it a whirl. We piss standing up.:D

Its time you finally fell off that turn-up truck there skippy.
To be fair, I will concede that there are a good number of "big power" dragboats that could be fairly labeled TQ's. There are also a good number of "big power" big block v-drives that stay in the water all day.
Because of a few you label them all. Thats just straight ignorance!
If I were to adopt your logic I could assume ALL wackers need 1/2 an hour and forward ballast just to plane out!
I don't know where you hide, but... come out, come out, wherever you are and wake up to the reality that Big blocks ARE top of the food chain on the water. Led by Tony S.:D

The fuel systems are mostly responsible for the increase. They used to run 30-40 gpm fuel systems compared to 70-80+ gallons per minute pumps now. An average pass is around 72-75 gallons per minute at WOT aong with better mags to light it off. SuperMags are about 5-7 amps while the new MSD's are supposed to be 44. The more fuel the more power with nitro and the harder on the parts. They used to leave the motors together between rounds too. Things have changed.

Needles, ah yes, during the week, just like a drag strip and the best part is, the trailer is not to far away.

But don't be a hater on the real boaters in here. Don't hate, appreciate. Looks like Roman is gettin the best of you. At least your consistant with your ignorance. :)
Maybe you need a history lesson in boating?
Early contestants of the catalina ski race were big block flattbottoms. Is the open ocean rough enough to fit your rough water criteria?
I attended the champ boat races in Windsor Colorado last year. On Sunday the race was momentarily held for wind. To keep the show going they ran the superstocks in the rough shit instead of the outboard tunnels. The tunnels ran later after the wind and water settled.
More History lesson--> superstocks are big block flattbottom circle boats 3rd down the pecking order of fastest big block flattbottom circle boats. The speed record for these (the 3rd slowest of inboard runabouts) is 121mph averaged 2 ways threw 5/8's of a mile. They race 5 mile long heats, several of them per day.
I have a boat AND I talk about how fast all my v-drive friends are. If you want to see my boat, rent the movie the "The Great Outdoors".
Boat e.t.'s for the lake boats you inquire about vary. Billy B's boat has never been timed but has clicked off 141 simultaneously on 2 different radar guns running against a 7 mph current! His boat is an ex race boat set up for 5 mile races, now its just a riverboat.
Dossangers has another 140 mph riverboat as well as Roger Martin.
Les hayes has a small block Biesemeyer that runs 120 plus, not sure on e.t.
We have the Mand D boat and Smalls running 8's at 125 plus. There are several Grand National and Ski race boats running big numbers... I could go on all day.
Ill take a margarita please. :D

And how many flatbottoms are running the Catalina ski race now?? I know there were outboards there last year.
So Flatbottoms USED to be the hot ticket. How many manufacturers still build flatbottoms???

It seems my work is never done over here in Bench racers.;)
No, flatbottoms were not run in the last CSR, but its not uncommon to see the Raysoncraft of Lanse Haselrig still pulling this race. That is a Big Block v-drive for those of you that are still riding in the turn-up truck.
Reference to Te's "parked in the water if its not too rough" quote
Cue in on the fact that they CAN run in the ocean. Honestly, I wouldn't run a flatty out in that shit either... nor would I run a Mirage for that matter. Check out the fastest offshore boats, you'll find Big Block V8's there.
I'm not above hand feeding this to you Mr. Hippy.
Next!
For those who have a big enough pair, the flatbottom is definately a "Hot Ticket," especially at the river or the drags.
There are many Flatbottom manufacturers still laying up boats
for those who desire. For example, you can still buy a; Hondo, Howard, Canyon, Miller, Raysoncraft, Barron Sprint (Hallet), Revenge, Schiada, D'Cucci, Mako, Canary is that enough for you? If not I could probably think of a few more.

Its not me, its the subject matter.... out"bore"d.
It takes a pair beyond your comprehension to own a flatbottom. The straight fear of that much performance will allways keep sales clear of you and the general populous.

Gee uclahater,
you knew about BBSP, Roland and I boated at Lost Lake, and at Havasu, I don't recall seeing you there on the water.
Sometimes I go to Elsinore to do some testing I"ll let you know when so you can see the boat up close and personal.

Haven't seen guru's boat though, UT was even kind enough to bring him a trailer to park it on.....

COme on guys,
I think we should lighten up on You Te.
We may piss him off and he may pick up his make believe boat and leave the sandbox.
Lets all play nicely together and make him feel at home. It's like the kid with the make believe friend. "Hey You Te, nice boat:rolleyes: Oh look, you did a nice job of painting it:rolleyes:
and look, you put an outboard on it:rolleyes:

Hell yea it starts!!!!!!!!! & its fast too!!!! Waaaaaaaaayyyyy faster than "everybodys" boats man!!!!!   As was brought to my attention by a good friend of mine I would like to make a revision on an older post! ----> "I am going to jump into this with both feet" Has been changed... The new sentance should read-----> " I think you guys have to get some new material!" Please make note!
Hey Guru have you gps'd that monster of yours??? Does it run better than Smalls boat? I saw a video of smalls running & was blown away at how fuggin quick he is!!! :) Smalls if you read this kudos to you sir!

Come on one leg Max,
125 mph in the 8's for a big block ( big block means car motor) Trailer Queen. I'm sorry I'm not impressed. Guru's full on lake flat bottom runs 7.80s very impressive for a full on lake boat. And to think with ONLY 509 CI, talk about a small block, wow.
So hows the leg Max, will you still be able to push the gas peddle on the boat?

Yea actually its healing rather fast! I get my cast of june 21 & get a leg brace so I can move around a little better! And I must say that an 8 sec boat is impressive to me! :)

Maybe the secret to a really fast boat is leaving the trailer in the water... so kinda magnetism betweent he boat and the trailer, that makes it run 200% better:confused:
