I read a artical a while back about the Velocity,I believe in Powerboat magazine and they said it had one of the fastest bottoms in its class and got AAA ratings.

I have an old 24' Velocity ('88) that was fast with the stock 454 in it, mid 60's with 500 hours. It now has a 540, so it should be a little faster...

i had a 98 260 velocity with a502 which is actually 24 ft plus the swim plat form the boat the boat can be a bit difficult to drive at higher speeds it wants to move from side toside as the boat comes on and off the pad bottom
my buddy had two velocitys a 280 and the new vr1 which is a 29.6 ft. with a molded in swim platform. the 280 didnt handle too bad at sppeeds up to about70mph. the vr1 he ordered new and had a lot of problems with ie. the hatch blew off the motor 500 efi came new in the boat missing the seals on the motor and the computer on the motor read 10 hours and the hour meter in the boat read less than 1 hour he tried to get the problems ironed out from the dealer and the owner of velocity steve stepp with no success and basically due to the rudeness and arrogance of steve stepp when i was ready for my next boat i bought a fountain which i am very happy with

Last boat for me was a Baja 252. We loved it and it rode great in big chop. The only thing I have to bitch about with Baja is they don't step the hulls (not very efficent) and they under power them. My 252 ran 61 (not GPS) with a 454 mag. If I were looking for another boat  I would consider getting another Baja.

Look at the spam section (FULL THROTTLE) has a really nice Outlaw for sale...I have been in this boat and it flat out flies, on a scale of 1-10 its a 9+ and the cost versus what you get is going to be hard to beat.
