pump set up pics

Who's got some ?
I was looking at the bottom side of mine and I am concerned about what I see there :confused: .
Should there be any "lip " exposed . (edges corners ect.)
I'm thinking it should be flush with the hull contured into the pickup . with no visible edges of hull or pickup . also the two bottom strakes come together in a U shape . looks to me like this U would channel water into the pump and help keep it loaded but the U doesnt stop at the front of the pickup , but past it all together . I can take pics but would hate to post ugly POS pics . :p anyhoo who's got pics of their pickup from the bottom side ?

Bad pics would be a lot better that no pics. Post'em and someone can possibly help. Without knowing what you're lookin at it's hard to give any advice. Not that I have any that's worth a shit but pics would surely help.

I'm afraid I'll make the gang sick posting mine . but I gotta make her run correctly before I doll it up cant get the cart in front of the horse .

Woa squirt! That before pic looks rough! The after pics are oh so sweet tho. Is that speedcoat? Nice lookin intake!

Yep thats speed coat. That stuff dries almost as fast as it comes out of the nozzle. You can see Jeff wipe finishing the bottom, all it took is a shop towel and a few minutes of rubbing and the bottom looks frosty silver (not pictured)

Just a plane Jane Berkeley not to mention an obsolete model . didnt know that until it was too late . its a 12JA- I suppose it was the first of the 12J series the bad thing about this pump is that the thrust bearing has no rear seal , has a front one but no rear ! (what were they thinking ? ) it has a 8 vane split bowl wich is a good thing I suppose , if it had been a 12JA with a one piece bowl I believe I would have file 13d it long ago and started over. I'll play with this hull this summer and if I cant get her to air out a little and do what I want I'll Junk the Hull and keep the hardware and maybe stuff it into a 16'-18' aluminum hull .

And these next two the rear of the hull is below the pickup , geeez at the drag that creates probobly why I dont have much lift . the drag is probobly worth 5mph or so :p

it should help if I were to glass this in and make all the edges corners smooth shouldnt it ? and the strake thing :confused: does it look like it should ? or should it U further forward closer to the intake opening instead of mid way along the intake ?
when I start laying the glass and resin to it I would like to get it over and done with .
