Here we are 5 years to the day after my wife broke her foot at home while I was working out of town in San Diego. So Now I am working in Cerritos.
So she decides to go to SF to Fishermans Warf on this the anniversary of her broken foot last weekend. While in one of those campy attractions (Ripleys.... I believe, or maybe not) She trips in one of the rooms and does a face plant on a bench. Broke her cheek bone, finger and could have broken her neck if she had hit a little different.
Working out of town sucks.........

OMG! Is she ok? Poor thing....:(

She's pretty shook up and her face is swollen up like mad, but she's looking at the bright side. The thing that kills me is all she could think of was getting home, she didn't even report the fall to the people at the place...

Every once in a while I have to do an out of town stint. That is what worries me if something happens to the family while I'm gone. Thoughts make the mind wonder.:frown: Hope she is alright.

Thanks, she's tough... She will get over the injuries, it just kills me not being there.
I just can't deal with the road warrior crap anymore... I really need to get a job near home!

That's the only thing I hated about going to school out of town at the GM training center, was leaving the wife at home alone. Sorry to hear about her ordeal:(

This friggin company I work for it's like nobody is allowed to have a personal life..... distressing! I won't work there for long if I have anything to do about it.

I once worked for a company that would not let me go pick up my daughter from school. She was in kindergarden, and she was throwing up. They were like: "Can't anyone else get her" I was like "wait until you have kids,"
No I need to go!

Thanks all. She will be fine, but it just shows me how much I hate working away from home. I need to find a new business to work in... Seems Wireless Network Deployment and new technology upgrades just don't happen much near home any more.
That's why I have either been on the road or unemployed (or on disability) for the last 10 years or so. Seattle, Phoenix, San Francisco, LA, San Diego, those are the places I have worked in the last 8 years and then I was out of work or on disability for 3 years following my heinous boat injury. Work just dried up with the dotcom crash... and then 9/11 the bottom fell out.

Well let's say that I'm Red Cross First Aid and CPR certified, although it seems everytime my wife gets hurt, it's somewhere else doing something completely ordinary and low impact.

He's kinda right....I broke my foot running up the stairs
I broke my other foot, running
I broke my finger sliding off the front of the bow to catch the boat at a beach in Lake Powell (caught it on the front cleat)
what else.........
:D
