Looks badass Slink! I know it was tough choice of which boat to get. But IMHO you made the right choice.
Open or close bow?
Motor?
Stereo?
Details man! :D

Good, went out last night and took a look at a 22 ft shockwave.
The guy was asking 28 for it.
The color scheme on the boat was white with a teil strip down the side with purple checkers on it. The back of the boat was all orange. Just didnt get the warm and fuzzy about it...Going to the boat show this weekend...Maybe i'll find a new one there instead of buying used..

Its going to be an open/cuddy w/ a 496 HO. Dana hinges, Halon system, Sony CD w/ two (transom) remotes w/sirius. Thinking of running 4 6.5's up top in the cabin, 4 6x9's below them and 2 up front in the open bow area and 1 10" or 12" placed in the cuddy portion when you step up to the bow. Powered by 2 amps. Havent decided on which amps just yet.

Sounds like your going with a killer stereo. Having the same boat, I'd make one recommendation. Try and locate the sub in the back seat base in a custom built sub enclosure (it will be louder and cleaner sounding there). You will loose a little bit of storage but not that much with only one sub. I have four 10's in my seat base and still salvaged quite a bit of room (enough for all the life jackets, and other assorted items). If you go with one subwoofer, get the 12. It will be significantly louder than a 10". A 12 will only require about 1 cubic foot of sealed airspace. Shockwave built my sub box to my dimensions using 3/4 inch marine plywood that was glassed glued, glassed, and resined.

Yes, 20 hour service and the bimini broke :(. Have them drill you a drain plug in the mid-cabin. I had a little water in there from and ice chest and it did not eveaporate like I would have wanted.
I already have about 28-29 hours on the boat :). Tell Barry I said you could look at me stereo set-up. Open the hatch if you want. The amps are behind the seats in the mid....2 on each side. I also put Dana grills in there to allow for better air flow and the fans above Shockwave provides are normally pointed down to blow even more air through. I do have internal fans also. The XM just got added and I had to go with an external which is mounted in the glove box. Check it out and you can get some ideeas. If Barry has a problem tell him to call me if he is concerned at all. I know you probably look shady and shit :)
If I was you I would drop the swim step and exhaust down below the water. It won't sound as good at idle but you should eliminate noise problems down the road. I would have done it but I asked too late in the process. It also makes it easier for people to climb up onto the boat.
I did not go with the dana hinges but I wish I did....It clears up a little more room in the hatch but the main thing for me would be a cleaner look and more efficient opening of the hatch.

I agree with Tom on the below the water line / lowered swim step. I did that on my ride and I'm happy I did it. Quiet at idle. In fact, I've been right next to two other 25's up and running. One had below water line exhaust, the other above. The below the water line exhaust is a little quieter running as well as idling. Not sure why but it is....;)

Thanks for the info Tom, I was trying to decide to put the amps up there or in the back.

Nice Slink.
Keep us posted. In case I missed, what is the power package?

slink

Ya, I already decided to drop the step, Mama told me she better be able to her her music over "my" motor. I told her I would drop the exhaust down if she let me pop for the blue motor... Long story short, no blue motor :(

Bummer Slink! And Women say they don't have the power!
If I were you, I'd put the amps somewhere in the mid cabin. The engine bay gets hot (you'll be fighting the heat game in there) and if a waterline ever squirts, your amps are toast...

Ya I think it will be better in the mid-cab. Any suggestions where to mount the Sirius antenna? It is a magnet type

I would put them in the mid-cabin...I did not put speakers in the mid by the way. The only place to maybe, maybe get some peace and quiet :) Actually the bass pumps right thru there and it thumps!

Shoot your em address over to me and I will send some pics of the stereo placement. By the way RC gave me a lot of the ideas for my stereo and installation. He knows much more about all of this kind of stuff than me. twint64235@aol.com
