I went to my daughters graduation from 8th grade this morning. Apparently Josh's grandparents paid to have a plane fly over with this sign.http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/956Mvc-007f-med.jpg

I really don't understand why they have a big ceremony unless they think this is the last graduation these kids will ever see. When I was in school, we graduated from High School, and then college. Now they have preschool graduation, 6th grade graduation, 8th grade graduation, then high school graduation. By the looks of the banner that was flying, I would bet that guy only made it to his 6th grade one.

Agreed! If you don't graduate from 8th grade you've got some problems and probably shouldn't even be in school.

I had an 8th grade graduation in 1984. That was in the OC too.
My parents didn't love me though, there was no airplane w/ banner. Just a cake and some trinkets'n shit. :D

At the high school graduation a few years ago, there were so many planes flying with the banners you couldn't hear the names of the kids being called.
My daughter is graduating from 8th grade next week. She got a new dress, we will take her to lunch and she gets a new pair of sunglasses.....

Food, clothes for her back, and protection for her eyes from the sun's harmful rays? That's it? I'd hope you're providing those things regardless of the graduation! :p

After the kids graduate from College, is there really ANY money left to throw a big party, and especially here in Ca. and the univs. new cost structures.
Sorry to hijack, congrats to all of the kids who graduated this week, including our neighbor Jennifer!!
