I have got dead Bee's coming out the AC vent. I have the vent cover off in a bathroom I am remodeling when I went in the room yesterday after being away for a few days there were a couple hundred dead bee's circled around the vent opening. Called the exterminater & was told they will not inspect in AC systems call AC speacialist. Called AC guys & was told dead Bee's not a problem but if there is a hive call exter. Any one know how or why they get into the system?

Call a bee guy. I heard it is illegal to kill honeybees in CA, so you need a pro bee remover.

Turn the fan on-not the ac or furnace. Find a return duct that is close to the furnace. Take the grill off and fire a whole can of flying insect killer into it. Empty the entire can. Don't get the hornet spray, that stuff only comes out as a stream, you want the fog. Hopefully, you'll get enough on the nest to kill them.

Just called a Bee guy, from what i described he thinks there is probably a "Bee Ball" in the wall or ataic (1000's of Bee's) the dead ones are caused by over-population) will know in couple hours after he gets here. The insect killer injected into the ducting does not sound to healthy.

Good call. That is a job for the pros'. An accident with some of those Africanized bees could kill you!

This sounds like a good way to die. Maybe if you try this you can qualify for the Darwin Awards!

This type of problem happened to my brother. A bee hive started in his attick, next to the chimney and got pretty big before he noticed it. Here's the rip.
If they have a hive, like my brother did, and you kill them, then the honey and the wax melt and ruin everything it touches. The walls, ceilings, floors, carpets....everything.
A bee hive must be removed completely, and is very expensive, so you actually should call your homeowners insurance company and have them figure out how to get rid of it, cause it'll be a valid claim

Of course next year, your homeowners insurance will quadruple, if they don't drop you...
That's the joke about "Full coverage" homeowners anymore. If you make a claim, you are banished......
In my mind I only have it if my home burns down...

The Dr. is right. Carry a high deductible and use the money saved from lower premiums to pay for the little stuff. The insurance industry has a record of your claims that they all use and share. Make a few little claims and your going to have higher premiums and a more difficult time getting insurance. I did a lot of research after the fires. Everyone was taking these loss of use claims and getting new fridges because of spoiled food etc because of the evacuation. I said no thanks and just paid it out of pocket.

Well running around the house yelling "boo-bee boo-bee" worked. The Bee guy just left & could not find a hive or any live Bees. The dead ones were pretty dried up and crispy so they had propably been in there for some time. Removing the vent cover must have allowed them to blow out. Damifino:confused:

Well when your wife calls you at work tells you there are bees comming out of the AC vents and you open a room that has been closed for a few days a find a couple of hundred dead bees on the floor then it's time to have things checked out IMO. I had no way of knowing if there was hive or not & was told on the phone by the bee guy that there was propably a large population of bees in the attic. I was just looking for opinions... I will go Drink my beer now. Thanks

try rigging up a long vacuum hose to a shop vac, and just feed it
into all the duct work you can get to...... should solve 90% of the
whole issue in one easy afternoon....
I found a very large honeycomb hive when I was doing an exterior
remodel on my own home. it was contained between 2 wall studs, just above our ac panel on the exterior wall. the whole thing was like 30" tall, by 14" wide, and almost 3" thick. and, was
completely filled with honey.......don't know how long it was in there, but the honey was super sweet... tasted great... no bees
were found, so it must have been there for awhile........

Dogs! Dogs with bees in their mouths! And every time they barked they spit bees at you!
Homer Simpson
Why do bees buzz?
You'd buzz too, if someone took your honey and nectar.
(Say it, don't read it.) :D
